The food here is Absolutely spot on. Their Thai Ice Tea is straight gangster! The appetizer combo is worth the drive and perfect for 2. The potsticker was easily the best one I've ever had. The Crab rangoon was also ridiculously flavorful. A cream cheese lovers dream. The dumpling had a sauce that punches you in the mouth. Fantastic spice. The Shrimp chili salt was delicious and wasn't very spicy. The drunken noodles are always a safe hit and pack an amazing punch with soft wide noodles. The big knock here is the sometimes slow service. It took 16 minutes of sitting at the table before we were even approached. That's a little silly. Another 36 minutes for the food to come out. Patrons were at 5 other tables. Let's hire another cook and server please. Perhaps the most convenient way is to get take out. Always a great option. And last, the all important bathrooms were clean. Everything I've ever had here...
Read moreTheir pad see ew is on point! No sloppy, gloppy noodles at this place. The menu says this dish is made with fresh noodles and I believe it. I’m not sure if the picture I’ve provided is doing this dish justice, but in person I could tell the noodles were cooked properly before I even got around to tasting them. Texture is EVERYTHING people. These noodles weren’t overcooked and managed to achieve a bit of char from the palm sugar in the sauce caramelizing in the hot wok. The broccoli was cooked perfectly. It wasn’t raw nor steamed to death, or swimming in sauce. Crushed peanuts and a slice of lemon/lime wedge would have been a nice touch, but I’m not complaining!!!
Too many restaurants, coast to coast, mess this dish up. It’s my favorite Thai comfort food and I almost always forgo ordering it because I don’t want to have to spend the rest of my evening complaining about everything that was wrong with it. But I was already in a bad mood and figured I might as well go for broke and ordered it. And I’m SO HAPPY I DID!!! I walked out of there in a much better mood.
The place was clean. The staff wore their masks the correct way. And service was friendly and...
Read moreThis is my first review ever and this spot deserves it. My wife and I have been on the hunt for the best Thai food in the area. We eat Thai at least once a week. We have tried Thai in Frederick, Germantown, Georgetown and "best rated" Thai for D.C. which was in Arlington. None of these spots compare to Silk Thai!! Pan-nang coconut (2 spice) extra veggie with chicken. The creamy flavor of coconut milk with a touch heat and light basil flavor is amazing. I seriously could drink the broth every day of this dish. Drunken noodles (3spice) extra veggies with pork is on another level. Great sweet flavor on the front and a nice heat that finishes off the taste of each bite. Noodles are perfectly cooked everytime. Pad Krapow (3 spice) extra veggies extra garlic. Flavor of sweet and salty with the heat and pop of garlic is very unique. The reason this place is the best is because they use only the freshest ingredients. Portions are take home size and price is definitely a deal for this quality of food. It's a family business and you feel like family there. Support this spot I promise you will not be...
