Sakura Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Maryland

Great place for a family night out. The restaurant is nice, clean and the food is always good. Reasonably priced as far as sushi and steak goes.

Sushi Review: My Wife and I love sushi it’s been our thing for many years now. Sakura has been our go-to sushi spot ever since we moved to Hagerstown about 8 years. We have tried a few of the others around town but none of them are nearly as good or just don't have the selection that Sakura does. The fish is always fresh. We have never had sushi from here that has tasted fishy. The sushi menu has all of the basic rolls and plenty of artfully crafted specialty rolls if want to try something new or different. The Haru roll is awesomely delicious as well as the Orange Dragon roll. The staff is always very friendly and gracious. Best sushi in town!

Hibachi Review: Although we haven’t done the hibachi here nearly as much as the sushi bar the few times that we have it was a great time. WE PAID $20 FOR A MEAL THAT DIDNT EVEN FILL HALF OF THE PLATE!

First of all our server was rude half the time, she got frustrated easily with questions. Second we paid $20 for a hibachi meal and when I usually go to hibachi my plate is completely full, but guess what!? I was lucky if my plate was even half full, 3 eggs in the rice for 7 people, each one of us only got a quarter plate of rice that was stacked very very small. Then we go to pay, there policy does state that 6 or more people they can add gratuity to your bill which I respect being a server myself... but considering I paid $20 for a meal that was barely a meal and got some terrible service, the restaurant nor our waitress deserved the extra $10 that she added to my personal bill. So all in all terrible service, garlicky food, not to mention the LACK OF FOOD AND IT BEING...

The sushi I felt was more fresh a year ago. The rest of the food is great. They need new booths or to reupholster them. They are falling apart at the leather. They menu looks nice but they need an updated look. Their hours are all over the place. We would go more but they are closed. They open early then they shut they place down. Then they reopen it later on again later. It's just weird. The staff is responsible and respectful. They are friendly. Habachi bar is good and entertaining. Prices can be on the high side on certain items. They actually serve fresh calimari. Not that frozen trash with terrible chewy texture and bad flavours that 89.9% of restaurants serve. I appreciate that about them too. I wish they could serve calimari also unbattered for appetizers as well. Nice family...
