So me and my wife have been craving for a croqueta preparada, and I decided to try Don LoLos off of Hallandale. I saw Cuban restaurant so I gave it a shot. This is where my whole experience was just terrible. First, I came in and was greeted by some young gentleman with long hair and asked him for a menu. I saw they had a Cuban sandwich and they also had croquetas. So, I asked the young boy for a croqueta preparada, and he looked at me funny and didn't know what that was. He said he will ask they cook and returned and said he can't do that but can't give me croquetas on the side and I can place them in the sandwich myself. I was in awe! As I was trying to explain to the boy once more how the sandwich was just wondering if he just really didn't understand what I was asking for, the cook came out and I asked him if he really can't make me that sandwich. He came off so rude, and said he has many other sandwiches on the menu but he will not make me that one. I don't understand why/how it was such an inconvenience to prepare a simple sandwich. He continued with the whole 'i can make you the Cuban sandwich and you can place them inside yourself'. I said forget it and searched for another spot locally. I luckily came across Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine and without hesitation they were able to make it for me. Mind you, most Cuban restaurants don't have this sandwich on the menus but never have I ever had an issue where they said they couldn't make it. Unbelievable! Honestly, you would think during Covid you would be more accommodating, but I guess that's the difference between excellent customer vs. poor customer service. SUGGESTION Maybe don’t list yourselves as a Cuban/Mexican restaurant and just label...
Read moreThis place is definitely in my top five favorite Caribbean spots! Even though it was my first time here, the food was bursting with flavor. You can tell the chicken was marinated to perfection, over 24 hours for sure, chef’s kiss, A1, hands-down. My boyfriend has eaten here plenty of times, but this was my first. He ordered the Chicharrón de Pollo (Cubes of marinated chicken, quickly fried and served with onions and green peppers along with rice and beens and sweet plantains) and I had the Pechuga de Pollo (Boneless chicken breast, marinated and grilled with onions served with rice and beans and sweet plantains). Both dishes were incredible. The seasoning was on point, no shortcuts taken! and you can taste the love in every bite. What I love most is that it doesn’t taste like “restaurant food.” It truly tastes like a home-cooked meal, the kind that comforts you and makes you want to come back again and again. I’ve already told everyone I know about this place, and I’ll definitely be returning, with or without my boyfriend! lol If you’re looking for food that’s authentic, flavorful, and cooked with love, this...
Read moreTerrible! I went in for the first time being one of the closest Latin restaurants to me, and felt really unwelcoming just from walking in! Upon ordering I ask for a kids meal and was told that they were not able to sell me a kids meal because my child was not present! I really feel this business running like that with such poor service should not even be open, how is it that I am not able to pick up lunch for my kids who are home on summer vacation, I was out running errands and wanted to bring lunch to my kids! Honestly, I walked out and will never return, despite the fact that they take your order and leave towards the kitchen leaving 2 young kids suiting out on the register right by the door, which I find totally unsafe and...
