Iron Skillet — Restaurant in Hammond

Well we ended up here thursday and friday!!! Thursday...the food was good and the only problem was after my hubby went in to pick the food up...the lady never put our order in after I called it in and she said 10 to 15 minutes before it would be ready!!! He goes in after about 20 minutes and the food hadnt even been started!!! We will let that slide tho!!!

Friday night...last night we ended up parking here again so well we was like starving and I called my order in like the night before!!! Same procedure as thursday night...10 or 15 minutes she told us!!! 20 minutes go by and hubby goes in!!! Comes back with no food after about 45 minutes!!! He said nobody come to help him at first...then some lil girl come asked him after 20 minutes... if he needed to place an order...and he told her that he has a call in and she said ok and walked away!!! He said they had 3 ladies waiting on tables...but only the lil old lady was doing her job!!! Said the other 2 females was on the phone playing and whatever...said they never helped anybody while he was in the place!!! This entire time he is looking at plates and to go orders sitting in the window!!! So after 45 minutes of waiting and no help or no food...he left!!! And so did some other customers as well!!! Like what kinda place are you people running!!! This is not how you treat people and paying customers at that!!! To the older lady running around doing her job without any help...I dont know you do it but continue to show them young girls up!!! Maybe just maybe...they will see these complaints and get you some help!!! You cant do it...

Well where should i start. First of all we are driving across country and stoped at the hotel next to this truck stop and heard that the Iron Skillet had a good buffet and good home cook food. So my co driver and i went on over. We both had the buffet and we went in about 8pm but they dont close til 11pm. The food was old and dry from the mash potatoes to the corn bread. I had ordered water and my friend has a soda. The buffet is $13.99 ...... Way over priced for such little selection . did i mention all the food was dry. They also charged me $2.49 for my glass of water. I would not at all recommend this restaurant to anybody at all. Again way way over priced. The staff was very nice that's the only reason i gave a 1 star. Didn't want to try anything on the menu do to the overly priced food. After we left and walked back to the hotel i had to stop to though up. Again i will not at all recommend this place to anyone. Good luck to who ever goes here. Nasty food and way over priced. Not worth it save your money...

The kids were great there was a lot of fussing about the secret Santa.. and loud up front just took away from the customer's conversations. Second I noticed britney and the other waitress I mentioned to one never take a cup off the rack and dip it into the ice box.. its nasty.. she said because the cups chip.. I said no.. For example you just came from the back and I bet you were looking at your cell phone. She said yes.. and I asked you take your phone every where. She said yes.. like the bathroom and then you come back and touch the cup and your hands touch the cup and it goes deep into the ice.. now you just contaminated the ice.. the both of you did.. then the older gent did it.. I asked where is the scooper she said right here.. and showed me.. I said please use it.. she said she didn't know about the contamination. And learned somthing.. other than that good.....
