We left. Used to be #1 location until they stopped serving filling type sides to go with main course 😡! If we are going to be eating salad aka rubbish type food before eating our main entree then having mash potatoes etc is key with certain meats like chicken parmesan and offering more rubbish like broccoli/of all things grape's 🤮 as the side with main course after we just would have eaten full serving of salad with grapes... Least OG should have is a great side to go with our main dish... The spaghetti is nasty, used to have flavor and was filling not now has no flavor and the meatballs/shrimp was underdone 😡!! We walked out before ordering because we thought hey give OG 1 more chance... But when they have taken away main top notch sides replaced with only either butter sauce noodles/🍇/🥦/asparagus/black beans 😡😡😡😡... Ruined what used to be the perfect order 👇 Double mash potatoes with grilled parmesan chicken smothered w cheese/bread sticks for dipping in the tators and sauce and having unlimited salad/bread before eating our main dish! No wonder it hasn't had the what used to be packed place with great atmosphere. Heck before we left the waitress left us sitting too place our order over 20 minutes because she was mixing drinks behind the bar after we'd been waiting and seated over full total of 25m. Yes, she apologized. But we were already frustrated from the wait time and too then be told... Well... We no longer serve the sides we used to have... Do you want grapes with your chicken parmesan 😡 🤢 you can't dip grapes in chicken parmesan or with our bread sticks and nothing to actually fill you up except eating just the chicken! We said no NOTTA nope... Bye! So we wound Up going to golden corral and the service+food was AWESOME 👍💯! Olive Garden better bring back dishes that goes great together because not everyone wants just rubbish/grapes/undercooked/no flavor type dishes. Ruined what was already a...
Read moreI recently visited the Olive Garden in Hammond, Louisiana, for dinner and had a bit of a mixed experience. Overall, I rated the restaurant with two out of five stars, as some elements met expectations while others fell short.
Food & Atmosphere (2/5 Stars): The food was the most inconsistent part of the meal. While the signature soup, salad, and breadsticks were as good as ever, the main entrée lacked the flavor and quality I typically expect. For dinner, the dining experience was met with moderate noise, which is typical for a family-style Italian chain. It wasn't too loud and allowed for easy conversation.
Service (2/5 Stars): The service was just okay. While the staff were courteous, the overall attentiveness and speed were lacking. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it was certainly slow and not as responsive as I would have liked.
Key Details for Future Diners:
• Group Suitability: This location is suitable for all group sizes, which is great for large families or parties. • Cost: The prices here are firmly in the $20–$30 per person range for a dinner entrée and a drink. • Reservations: I appreciated that reservations are not required; walk-ins are welcome. • Parking: Parking is plentiful as the restaurant is located near the Hammond Square Mall. • Accessibility: The restaurant is very wheelchair accessible, with plenty of space to maneuver in all directions. • Vegetarian Options: I'd recommend dining in for the best experience with their vegetarian offerings.
In summary, the Olive Garden in Hammond delivers the expected brand consistency in atmosphere and accessibility, but the food and service fell below par on this particular visit. If you're looking for a reliably accessible location that handles large groups, this is a decent option, but temper your expectations for a flawless...
Read moreOlive Garden has long been known for its community-centric initiatives, but their annual gesture of goodwill for veterans truly stands out. This particular location took their commitment a step further by literally rolling out the red carpet for veterans. This symbolic act of respect and honor goes beyond mere words, offering a tangible expression of gratitude for their service.
What sets Olive Garden apart in these efforts is not just the gesture itself, but how it's integrated into the overall dining experience. They offer specially curated meal options that provide real value, a stark contrast to some businesses that might offer token gestures under the guise of appreciation. These meals are not just about giving back, but about creating an experience that acknowledges the sacrifices made by these individuals.
This genuine display of respect and appreciation is a significant reason why I, and many others, choose to consistently patronize Olive Garden. It’s clear that their actions are driven by a sincere desire to honor veterans, rather than as a superficial public relations effort. This integrity in their approach to community service solidifies Olive Garden not just as a restaurant, but as a pillar of community support and...
