Hi, I am a regular customer of Le Saigon. I have ordered the Fried Oreos for dining in many times and it has always been good. Today (08/15/24) is the first time I ordered To-Go. Ice cream everywhere I have ever ordered is always put in a separate To-Go container to keep from the warm stuff to keep it from melting.. fried oreos are warm.. so why was the ice cream put dead on the top of it. Looks disgusting and I tried to eat it and it was just nasty. I called the store and talked to a server and said she’s going to ask what she can do. She then put me on a hold and her manager came back on the phone. Her manager (the older short Asian lady, I’m not sure her name) was being very rude, like yelling at me and arguing with me that I shouldn’t have ordered it. I didn’t raise my voice not once at the lady. But she said repeatedly that she’s not giving me a refund or even a chance to get it remade. I told her that I don’t think that’s right because when a customer isn’t happy, good customer service is being willing to fix things. The manager (the older short Asian lady) was very very very rude like the rudest manager I have ever talked to and I have no reason to complain because I’m a regular and love coming to Le Saigon but her attitude was disgusting and I don’t want to go back. I tried to even ask if she could just remake it and I’ll bring the other one back , she just cut me off saying “no no no I’m not doing that and I’m going to just take Fried Oreos off the to-go menu” I said okay (like that doesn’t solve my problem) and she hung up in my face. That lady is rude rude rude and I was being as nice as possible because at the end of the day she is handling my food but I won’t be going back because she just put a bad taste on Le Saigon. Which is a shame because I literally go to Le Saigon 3-4 times a week, I know every server & every cook so why wouldn’t you do good by your regulars who spend money coming. Crazy woman.

Let me start by saying that the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. I don't want to talk trash about this restaurant; I just want to tell everyone about my first experience at Le Saigon and why I will not be returning. Here is where I had problems: They charge 18% gratuity for using the grill. This does not make any sense to me. It is a Korean barbeque. That is like charging 18% gratuity for going to a steakhouse and ordering a steak or charging 18% gratuity for going to a hibachi and ordering hibachi. So of course when I received my bill I was stunned. Also, my son ordered a smoothie, took three sips out of it and said he didn't like it, so we ordered something else. They wouldn't take it off the bill because he drank out of it and it was already made. I tried the drink myself and it tasted like strawberry flavored ice. What happened to customer satisfaction? They didn't seem to be hurting for buisness, so I am surprised that they couldn't take off a $6.95 smoothie. I could understand if I had ordered something that was really expensive, but it was just a drink. Just a warning if you order it, you are paying for it regardless of liking it or not. The last thing is the owner kept telling us how to cook the food on the grill. One time is fine, but she kept coming back and even started cooking it for us. She did this to my table and my sister's table. It was really awkward and uncomfortable. When we left the first words out of my sister's mouth was that she was never coming back. Again the food was good and waitstaff was friendly , but I don't agree with some of the managerial practices.

We ate at the grill and opted for the family pack because we had 6 people in our party. We had PLENTY of food to go around! All of the meat was delicious- especially the Bulgogi. The owner is so nice. She came to chat with us and kept coming back to make sure everything was good. Our kids enjoyed helping cook the meat. I’ve seen other reviews where people mention how small the sides are for the grill menu. I don’t think people fully understand how this works. You are suppose put meat and rice in the lettuce leaf, wrap it, and eat it. The “sides” are not typical side dishes that you eat separately. They are meant to be added to the lettuce wrap for flavor. Think of these “sides” as the butter you get at a restaurant to put on your rolls. You get one dish of butter and a basket of bread for your table. Everyone gets a roll and uses their knife to scoop a little butter to add to the roll. It’s the same concept.

Not kid friendly!! I know someone clicked they were...NO! No kid menu in sight. I asked my waiter today what I could order for my 2 young children...he suggested spring rolls, crab Rangoon etc. Now my children EAT!! They are not picky eaters, but I don’t over spice (heat wise) food that I cook. I finally looked at him like he was crazy and said no...what meat can I order them. Now, don’t get me wrong...I love Korean House in Metairie. I’ll make a drive. My kids eat it. Don’t suggest I feed my kids cabbage spring rolls and cream cheese fried wontons. So...I finally decide to just order them the $12 lomein chicken. And have them split it. Seriously!!! Who is gonna order a $12 each for a 3 & 4 year old?!?!?!? So the plate arrives and luckily they weren’t really hungry. I was able to make them each a little plate. The dish on the menu comes with onions, scallions and broccoli choice of protein. The broccoli was hard. My 3 year old seriously loves broccoli, but wouldn’t eat it. 1 broccoli floret. 1!!!! Really If you advertise a dish is served with broccoli...typically it will have more than 1 floret. Seriously....a saucer half full for each. They said it was good...except the broccoli. My boyfriend ordered a meat lovers option...chicken. A salad came with it. The dressing was good. The taste was decent on the chicken...again..rock hard broccoli. The portion size was small. He wasn’t full when we left even though I ordered him an egg roll for $2 and myself the same...which came as 4 spring rolls. They were good and had a good dipping sauce. I ordered myself the bibimbap bowl. It was good. Had to ask for chop sticks for it...which is customary to eat along with a spoon with. Definitely had better...but it was good. I also ordered a “small dish” of their homemade kimchi. The waiter forgot it...so halfway through my meal we were finally able to grab his attention and get it. It was served cold. Ok fine...the flavor was good...my problem was it was a big LUMP! We were served the stem of the Napa cabbage all stuck together...all thick. No pulling it apart with our chopsticks, eating it along our main dish. I actually had to pour the little bowl out onto our egg roll dish and bust out a butter knife and cut it off the stem and cut the big thick bottom into bite size pieces. Ok so if my experience wasn’t bad enough with our food, I took my 4 year old to the restroom. The hallway to the restroom is Right beside the kitchen. The kitchen has a shin high swinging door to go in and out. A Large gray/brownish roach ran across the kitchen floor. It was only 1 roach and I know we are in Louisiana, but I don’t wanna see this! I’m only wondering what I couldn’t see beyond that kitchen door. I feel so sick to my stomach. First and never again time...

For starters it is absolutely unacceptable to wait for a table for 30 minutes. I had a group of 3 people being sat before me and I walked in before them. I had a server ask me 3 times “Are you dining in or picking up an order?”… I had to repeat myself 3 times, and after the 3rd time she finally cleaned the table for me and my group to be sat. When we got sat we ordered and the waitress couldn’t get our order for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I had to repeat all of our orders and I am the guest to make sure it was right because we were doing 3 separate checks. Fast forwarding to when the food comes out my other guest wanted to cook on the grill that comes with the table. The waitress messed up our order when the cook had to come out and told my friend she cannot cook on the hot plate because it was already cooked in the back. She told me that since one of the meat was cooked in the back I cannot cook on the hot plate. She proceeded to bring me my other plate of food which I told her when I ordered to not have any veggies on my plate. When the food came back it had vegetables on it. She took the food to the back and they gave me cold chicken and they still had veggies on it which means they didn’t remake my food. When we checked out they decided to put a $8.75 gratituty on the check for using the hot plate 18%. When we came back they told us we cannot refund your money but we can give it to you in tax. This is completely unacceptable, and as a paying customer the service was absolutely horrible. Other customers were not being served forks and napkins and spills were not being cleaned. Absolutely unacceptable I will not be going back again! Absolutely terrible customer service and...
