Really not sure how this restaurant has a good rating in the maps. We were so excited to go there but left with a very bad experience. To be honest, nothing was clean, be it the plate or the restroom. We should have left when we saw those, but we had hopes for good food. We ordered chicken 65, but we got something like chicken Manchurian. But it was good. Butter chicken was also ok. The thing is none of the vegetarian dishes were good except for the salad. Everything was so bland and what was more disappointing was the way we were treated after sincerely telling our concern about the dish. We said that the non-veg dishes were good but not the veg dishes and also added that it has no salt. And the reply we got is that, they have provided salt to the table. What a good answer. They should have just provided everything in the table, and we could have made a better dish. And when we asked for a replacement of the dish, they provided the worst one. So we just left with an empty stomach and disappointment. My recommendation is not to try vegetarian dishes and do not have high hopes. I'm not gonna visiting this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBest Indian food in Louisiana, and probably the south in general. Some of the best Iāve ever had period!! A friend was working on a film shoot in Hammond this past weekend so he ended up eating dinner from Punjabi Dhaba both nights (upon my recommendation). Asked him to bring me some food, too ā I got lamb dopiaza and it was a serving enough for 3 medium-sized meals (or 2 huge ones)! Rice heated up again great toasted in a nonstick with a bit of the sauce. Naan lasted great for multiple days wrapped in foil on the counter. Had a few bites of his leftover chicken korma and that was fantastic, too. Seriously this is Indian food done right. The flavour and spice are on point, a rainbow of delectability; worth the drive and weāll surely be making it again soon. Plus the price is unbeatable. They were doing 50% off so my giant serving of incredible lamb (+my portion of the rice and naan) came to about $13. This place was also originally recommended to me by an Indian friend in New Orleans so I already knew it was gonna be amazing. Get in your car...
