I placed an online order for my family. My mother originally wanted the pollock fish, but it was out of stock according to the website. She chose another meal, as that’s how customer service is supposed to work.
I ordered $60 worth of food for my family and drove all the way to the store at the designated pickup time. When I arrived, the front-end staff informed me that the burgers were frozen due to a fridge malfunction. I asked, “Why did the site allow me to order it?” (knowing they would likely make me contact online support for a refund).
The woman responded, “Look, I just got here at 10 p.m. and I’m ready to go.”
I immediately asked for the manager. She came out of the office in full attitude mode. She was extremely rude when I simply asked the same valid question. She said they were busy (which I doubt, based on other reviews) and didn’t have time to call customers. She added that corporate doesn’t know what’s happening at their location. Then she told me to just pick something else off the menu.
I explained that my husband only wanted the burger, and that, at best, he might have gone for the pancakes. I also explained that the burger was $16.48 plus tax, and the pancakes were nowhere near that price. She responded, with attitude, “Well, just order $16 worth of pancakes!”
I said, “There’s no way I’m going to order $16 in pancakes. Where is your manager?”
She replied that I’d have to wait until the next day to speak with the General Manager if I wanted a refund.
I repeated that this situation could have been avoided with a simple phone call, or better yet, if the website removed the item from the menu. She said, “Well, you can get out of my store!” and then threatened to call the police on me — simply because I asked why no one had contacted me regarding a prepaid online order.
All this happened while my 70-year-old mother was patiently waiting in the car.
I asked her for the GM’s business card. She pointed across the restaurant to the cash register and said, “It’s over there — you can go get it.” I asked again, and she gave the same dismissive reply.
With that level of service, I requested a full refund. Again, she told me I’d have to go online or come back the next day to speak with the GM. On several occasions, I said, “I hope the restaurant and this interaction are being recorded.” She replied, “It sure is.”
I sincerely hope that’s true, because this interaction absolutely warrants a review. She raised her voice multiple times, and I had to ask her to lower her tone when speaking to me — a customer with a valid concern. I've heard reports of Denny's calling the police on customers but to have this happen to me, especially as a new resident of Pennsylvania, is wild! I look forward to my full refund and a personal...
Read moreI moved to the area 2021. Tried this place a couple months after moving. My husband and daughter got food poisoning. Yes I am sure it was from the food here. I didn’t go back until a few days ago when I got a birthday coupon emailed to me and I checked out some recent reviews and it seemed they cleaned up their act. This visit the table they tried to seat us at wasn’t wiped down so I went back one table and sat there. Also, not cleaned appropriately as crumbs on seats. Overlooked this. Our drink order was taken. The waitress took forever to bring out our drinks. Literally over 20 mins and they weren’t even busy. We were so thirsty. We ordered our food it took over an hour for some pancakes, eggs, and crepes. Waitstaff checked on us once. When our food came out it somehow was barely warm. The room temp margarine wouldn’t even melt on the pancakes. I go to try my crepes and there is a hair on it. One that did not look like a head hair…I call waitress over tell/show her the hair she say “ well what do you want” obviously I want my food remade without hair. I watch her take plate to kitchen and hand it back and talk to them and I kid you not less than 3 mins later she brings out a ‘new’ plate of crepes. If it took over an hour for my food first time how could they have remade in less than 3??? Looking at this it honestly just looks rearranged and that they put extra strawberry sauce and powdered sugar on it. I cut into it and put it to my mouth, it’s cold. These crepes weren’t remade. She doesn’t check on us. I catch her going to another table and ask for boxes for kids and check. It takes her an additional 20 mins to bring this and when she gives me check she said here’s a coupon for 15% off for the hair!!! Which my crepes I’m positive hadn't been remade. She comes back a minute later to tell me she gave me another tables check. Ok: whatever go to pay my bill. I’ve had enough at this point. They were not busy more tables were empty than filled the entire time we were there. I won’t be back. I spent $36 after my ‘free’ breakfast for cold food and poor service. If after over two years they haven’t cleaned up their act I doubt they will. Management seems non existent too no one came out after my food...
Read more"0 stars" "0 stars" On 7/27/25 my children and I arrived at the Denny's at 1am. The restaurant was empty aside 1 other person. The waitress mentioned there would be a 20-25 min wait and we agreed to wait. However we waited 1.5 hours before we received a fraction of what we ordered on our table. The waitress made an excuse claiming they had to clear oven of other orders, however we did not witness any order pick ups for Door dash etc. After waiting 1.5 hours the female waitress w/ brown hair failed to bring eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and a steak "to go order". This all added up to around $70 before tip. And not to mention the few items we actually received was burned and disgusting. My son and I WITNESSED a man walk in and HE was SERVED everything we were MISSING from our order, all with in 20-25 min of sitting down. We observed the waitress for 5-10 more minutes to see if she would attempt to bring the rest of the order and she did not. I told the waitress I WOULD ONLY PAY $5 for drinks bc the food remained on the table untouched. She very nervously asked if there was a problem and I actually explained the problem. I'm not sure if this stemmed from ignorance, racism, or incompetence. The restaurant LOST out on a $70 order and the waitress doesnt have to worry about tax on tip bc she received $0. This review will also be posted on the hotel websites near this location. So that people will consider whether or not the drive is worth it. We drove 30 min to get there only to watch SOMEONE ELSE eat. The same morning several hours later we ate at a extremely busy Denny's in FREDERICKSBURG MD. The waiter didnt even need to write down our order for a family of 4 and there was absolutely NO issue.. Food was timely, order complete, and delicious at another location and NOT this one! Feel free to...
