I recently attended a birthday gathering at this restaurant with a large group of people. Unfortunately, there were not enough seats for everyone in our party. When we addressed this concern, the response from what seemed to be the owner (or perhaps the owner’s wife) was, “Well, they should have given the right number of people when making the reservation.” While somewhat understandable, the delivery was rude and dismissive.
My husband, my sister, her husband, and I were among the first to arrive and were seated immediately. A few minutes later, a waitress introduced herself and took our drink orders. My husband and I both ordered Long Islands, which came in short cocktail glasses—red flag #1, as Long Islands are typically served in tall glasses. It was clear the drinks were missing sour mix and had only a splash of Coke, making them taste completely off.
The worst part of the evening, however, was our server. For most of the night, she was nowhere to be found. She never came back to take our food order—we had to catch her on her way to another table. To make matters worse, she wasn’t even prepared to take our order and ended up writing it down on a napkin.
When our food finally arrived, I had a chicken quesadilla, which was actually quite good. However, I was surprised to find out there was an extra charge for an additional packet of sour cream—something that was not mentioned beforehand.
We decided to order another round of Long Islands and informed the waitress that our drinks were served incorrectly. Her response? She didn’t want to charge us $12 for the top-shelf version, so she gave us the $9 one instead. The problem? She never asked us what we preferred. This time, she brought the drinks in tall glasses, but they looked identical to the first round—only stronger. We had to request a glass of Coca-Cola to make them drinkable, and yet again, they lacked any sour mix.
Throughout the entire evening, our waitress never checked on us or asked if we needed anything. We had to flag her down every time—even just to get to-go containers and our check. Honestly, we could have walked out without paying because she was that inattentive, but that’s not the kind of people we are. She's lucky her tip was already included in the bill.
Overall, the service was incredibly disappointing. The bartenders need retraining, and the waitstaff could use a serious refresher on attentiveness and customer service. Would I return? Not likely.
UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY: If there was truly no reservation, as you stated in your reply, then why were tables and chairs set up with three signs displaying the birthday person's last name and the reservation time? As I mentioned in my original review, I understand the seating situation. However, what you completely overlooked in your response was the poor service and subpar drinks, which should have been the focus. That said, I still wish your establishment...

Forced gratuity of 20% at a sports bar for a table of 4 when it’s not busy is wild. Highway robbery. Checks were split and they charged a processing fee?
There is a zero percent chance that this restaurants ratings aren’t bought. The service was average at best. They have no draft beers and prices for the spirits are wildly high.
Would avoid this place for sure.
Edit: since the owner of the Dave’s decided to respond in an incredibly disingenuous way, I’ve decided to edit this post to respond. If you look at the reviews and sort by newest they all say the same generic lines mentioning a name and are majority from profiles with 1 or 2 reviews in the entire account history. Many being years old before leaving another review. There is a clear pattern to suggest that reviews here are either botted or paid for. Since the owner wanted to look at my profile to respond, I looked into the profiles of these obviously fake reviews. A vast majority of the reviews are submitted at exactly the same time and all mention the same things. I can’t fathom a world where a SPORTS BAR without beer ON TAP suddenly gets people who haven’t left reviews in over a year to magically decide to 5 star their business. None of these accounts ever post pictures either, which is another red flag to call into question the legitimacy of these reviews. This practice is incredibly shady and is even further reason to avoid doing business at this...
Read moreDo not order online, just call or go in. Waited over an hour for an online order placed at 7:44pm on Friday night but, it wasn’t even confirmed until I went inside and asked the bartender about my order 20 minutes after I placed it. She was nice and she placed it for me at the bar, but it still took 30+ minutes after that. They were busy so that does play a part, but turn off your online ordering if you’re too busy to pay attention to it. I’m so upset after waiting on hour for food. Also, after getting it it’s not even worth the $30 I paid and hour I waited. I didn’t even have my fries that were supposed to come with the meal because you get two sides with the fish and chips but mine were missing the fries! Another thing, I’m used to golden brown thick pieces of fish and chips that have a good crust on it. These look like chicken tenders/ fish sticks, not traditional fish and chips. My wife had the fish sandwich and fires and was also disappointed, fries tasted like oil. Just a terrible first impression, I can deal with mediocre food, but waiting an hour for mediocre food leaves a terrible taste in my mouth and I wouldn’t even give this place another try. The bartender was nice and the staff was nice, but it’s ALWAYS the kitchen that ruins restaurants. It’s not the servers or bartender’s fault your food took 30 minutes, or that is nasty/mediocre. It’s always...
