I will admit to recognizing it but I don't know what it is about wanting a donut after church. Yet, it is our current habit. Maybe it is that little something that rewards the taste buds after seeking future rewards.
We had heard from friends that like Top Donuts and made it our stop today. The staff were very kind and were patient with our browsing the menu and shelves. We grabbed an apple fritter, cinnamon roll and a chocolate twist.
The fritter was soft, cinnamon-forward with a good disbursement of apple...possibly the best one we've had in the area. The twist rose well and was exactly as good as we hoped. The cinnamon roll didn't make it in the photo. I blame my love of cinnamon rolls and it had the flavor but was a little crunchy on the outside. It may have dried out a bit after cooling or baked too long but it is the only less than amazing part of the experience. Heck, we even found a few donut holes that found their way into the bag (which were terrific.)
I promise to go back to see if this is just how those cinnamon rolls are or if it is just an anomaly. But, I would still recommend them especially for their raised donuts...

The donuts are not good just like every other junky donut shop like this one. They seem irritated if you come in. We tried 3 times over the course of them being open just to try and shop local and show family around who was visiting. The donuts are literal puffs of sugar decorated in the most lazy ways. There is no substance to them, you can tell in the weight alone. We have Shipley's here, even Dunkin is better (yes, even that location). For goodness sake, do better. This town...

But I noticed something off. I paid $6.28 for two burritos listed at $2.50 each. That means I got charged $1.28 in tax...thats over 25%. Thatās not a standard sales tax. Either something else is being added in, or the price breakdown isnāt clear.
They also hand out āfreeā donuts, but theyāre likely leftovers they didnāt sell. Thatās not generosity. Thatās cleanup.
I still like the food, but the pricing feels off. Be aware of the...
