4•19•25 so we decided to come in and try breakfast now, well all I have to say is I was not a fan over it. Reason wellthey do have a variety of items but, technically i don't think it is real eggs they have your chorizo egg, potato egg, sausage egg, bacon egg. The bacon was very tough not crispy as it should be i placed a order of fresh eggs over medium hard came back watery, the beans in the bar they are very runny seems like instant beans just add water and it was a bit too much water so they had no flavor. By the time they brought my order of 2 eggs and that error I was nibbling on sides that I didn't enjoy my full complete dish. It is pricey almost the same for lunch I understand lunch it is reasonable because meat is expensive but for breakfast if you want something quick and are not to picky well this is your spot. But it was nit authentic breakfast. Flour tortillas are good tho those are freshly made so be patient. Otherwise I will stick to lunch here are breakfast pics too just so you can take a peek. And a bit if the breakfast menu.
4•6•25 1st time here, and this is a very nice little gem in the wall. It's kinda hidden, but if you really like authentic Mexican food, well, you won't regret it. Was well worth the wait and $$ when coming in. There is a tablet that you sign in for your turn. I liked this very convenient for you and follow up when your time is next. Inside the dining area is very spacious. As they sit you the give you s menu but only for drinks, plus other items but for the morning breakfast, anyways the buffet is self served it is super good I will jump into the food and let you know 1st to start let me clarify the enchiladas whether it is the red or the green it is pure cheese enchiladas no beef/chicken inside them fyi. As far as other foods, the mole is super good, they got pork chops, moiejas, menudo, and pozole. i mean, the viarity is great. As your waiter comes by and asks for your choice of drinks they ask if you would like corn or flour tortillass and they are very good too fresh and hot as they bring so you can eat with your choice of what you served yourself at buffet. I recommend this place. i will try and make it for one morning for breakfast to give it a try in the morning and see how that goes. But as for lunch, i took some pics of buffet, so I to give you an idea of what is served. And just FYI, as I said before, in other reviews when it comes to buffet... "Your eyes are bigger than your stomach" by me saying that is plz customers be courteous to others serve yourself what your to actually eat off your plate if you've never tried ok get a spoon so it it's hit or miss you wont throw so much food off your plate and if you like well just serve yourself more it ain't going anywhere aside that food just keeps coming out. I understand you paid for your meal, but let's be less greedy in serving yourself all at once over fill and just leave it. I really recommend this place. Keep in mind it is a bit of a wait because you know it is an open buffet, and you know the drill just like other buffet competitors. Just wait. But this place it is well...
Read moreSo disappointed. I’m a big time fan of Edith’s and am always willing to drive out to their Pharr and McAllen locations because it’s always a great experience. When the Harlingen location opened up, I heard a lot of not so good reviews, but couldn’t believe that their quality didn’t match. I was finally able to try it today and am nottttt interested on going back.
A lot of the food options seemed to be done in poor quality. Items like the mole tasting too sweet, the pozole being having an overwhelming taste of oregano, the quesadillas being so dry, the enchiladas being practically empty on the inside, their green spaghetti lacking so much flavor... like the list just goes on. I did enjoy their beans, caldo, and arroz con leche! But 3 items being a hit and practically the rest being a miss, so much improvement can be done.
The service definitely didn’t make up for it either. No server stopped by to get us drinks for almost 15 minutes until my mom went up to one of them to ask. Even at that, there wasn’t an apology for skipping over us (it also wasn’t busy for an early Monday afternoon so I’m not sure how that happened?) No one did a general check in of the “How’s everything, do you need a refill, etc.” The only other interaction after that was someone picking up our plates once we were about to leave.
I’m not writing this to warn people not to go, but as genuine feedback for the staff to do better on so many levels. Literally all of this can...
Read moreWanted to try this place out to see what all the hype was about. It was meh! Food was alright but this place for me was one and done. For starters, the wait times are long but that didn't bother me. 10 min after being called in to be seated, the power goes out in the restaurant. People that were already seated got to stay and finish eating. There were still a lot of people waiting to be seated who were told to leave due to the power going out. With the wait times being long, I'm sure there were a lot of upset people. The food buffet line moves way too slow. Everyone grabs their plate and waits in this long line to get to the buffet area. Food lacked flavor. They have things like bistek ranchero, carne guisada, asado de puerco, enchiladas, chalupas, mole, rice and beans. It's an ok amount of food but the buffet could be with more options. It's about $14 per person not including the drink. I myself would not go back but that is my opinion. Everyone needs to try it at least once and form their own opinion...
