I placed a pre-order online on 6/6/2024 for pickup at the 35 Burgess Road, Harrisonburg, VA location. The website stated that pre-orders were available to begin on 6/6 for pickup on 6/7 for the BOGO2 deal. I went to the location to pick up my 3 orders since the website only allowed orders placed online the option of 1 BOGO2 compared to Instore option of max limit of 2 -BOGO2 deals. I have approximately 110 employees I was purchasing donuts for. I got to the location to pick up my orders around 7:55am and they weren't ready/clearly packaged. One employee told me that my order was on the 2nd shelf on the left – that bag did have my name on it but only contained 1 of the 3 orders I’d placed. Then another employee chimes in and says that order, with my name on it, wasn’t mine since they’d mispackaged my order. I was told the 3 bags on the top of the rack, with 4 dozen per bag, were mine however they weren’t labeled. At that point I was confused and informed the employees behind the counter of that since I’d only ordered a total of 7 dozen and clearly those bags had 12 dozen and I didn’t want to take what I didn’t pay for. That’s when clearly, they became annoyed with me and the ridiculously poor customer service started. • I was told by one employee I didn't get the discount because the deal didn't start until today (however my receipt clearly showed I'd received it and my purchase was finalized). • I was told I couldn't get the Dolly dozen with the deal. • I was told that Corporate never let’s them know when these types of events are happening. • I was even told by an employee my orders (which they say were incorrectly packaged by the night crew) should have been cancelled since I had more than 1 order. • I heard one employee stating how they don’t like when Corporate does these deals. • I was told this is the only time they’d allow me to make more than 1 purchase online – next time they’ll cancel them if they see them. Then another employee said that it didn't matter what Corporate said since they don't allow more than 1 transaction online per customer. I asked if they had it written somewhere, and she said no - corporate was just wrong. I did express I felt that was poor customer service since the customer can’t be expected to know these unwritten rules – and it should be communicated to the customer. She said it’s not her job – it’s corporates. I spent almost 30 minutes waiting, going through box after box sorting out my order. The employee that came over to help finally to see what was going on clearly was annoyed. The employee seemed annoyed with having to throw out 9 boxes of glazed donuts that were in the bag that one employee had earlier said I should just take if the Assistant Manager that they’d called to come help didn’t show up in a few minutes. Of course, I never saw the Assistant Manager! During sorting, it was discovered that the 3 bags were all glazed. I was missing the 2 boxes of classic assorted and 2 boxes of Dolly's. The manager, Emily, I'm told doesn't have a business card available and is running route so she's not available for me to speak to. The employee doesn't know who the district manager is since they change so often. Overall, this was the most inconvenient experience that should've been convenient due to the pre-order. Employees lack of knowledge & rudeness not acceptable. As a former store manager for a large retailer, customer service is important! There are so many other locations I could’ve chose to purchase from, but I chose this location. Unfortunately, after this experience, I’ll begin frequenting the competitors as this location doesn’t seem to care, nor want my business. It would’ve been nice if they’d at least taken my info and asked Emily to contact me, but they didn’t want to be inconvenienced by that and by the sound of the employee Emily doesn’t have time nor wouldn’t help resolve this poor customer service and lack of training of employees. The employee said Emily should be back around 4pm, if she comes back...

Read moreA first and spontaneous stop at Krispy Kreme in the burg. Shyly, we are regulars at D&D and a last-second sharp turn into the lot of this new donut shop came with a sense of adventure. Stepping through the door, the place was bright and clean as the Duncan Donuts on University Boulevard, meaning sort of. It was a few steps in the door and a window opened a view of the wondrous donut making machine, un-wondrously though it was down for maintenance. The place had few customers, but it still took some minutes to place an order, even longer to complete a three coffee, six donut order. Visibly the store was staffed with half a dozen employees; discouraging it seems only one person was certified to work the register, box the donuts, and make the coffees. We ordered a selection of pumpkin spice coffees; frozen, iced, and hot. The coffee was tasty and thankfully not too hot to drink, unlike a cup of D&D coffee that is served 2 degrees short of pure steam; overall the coffee won us over. We each ordered two donuts for a total of six. Of note I had a New York cheesecake; the boy and girl had an Oreo donut. Everyone enjoyed the donuts, they are different, light and the flavors work well. Disappointingly my cheesecake donut was a bit stale and was devoid of any filling.
Overall the adventure was worth the turn and it was an enjoyable...
