We regularly attend this store for our craft supplies and decor especially during Halloween and Christmas. However tonight I have lost all respect for this location due to one rude employee. Whenever we go in the cashiers always blow us up 2 standard balloons, nothing fancy. Just a regular balloon with a little string so it keeps our 2 young girls occupied while we shop and not to mention it’s just a kind gesture. While checking out tonight(11/11/25) I asked the young man at the register if we could get 2 small balloons for our girls because we still had 2 more stores to go to and they were looking at the balloons in awe. When you’re 1 and 2 years old balloons are a hit! The young man walked over to the helium tank and asked an older man working there if he could blow the 2 balloons up because there was 1 customer behind us. The older man, long gray beard, long gray hair pulled back in ponytail, looked at me and asked if we paid for the balloons and I said no, it’s just 2 standard balloons and y’all always give us 2 for the girls as kind gesture. He looked at me then looked around and said ‘well you know it’s really busy in here and I have too much to do. I don’t have the time to do that.’ I told him to forget it and we walked out. Our girls were really disappointed. I could absolutely understand if it was busy and had loads of customers but there was 1 person behind us…..
Mind you he was really in a rush when he was standing in the back of the store talking to another customer(I’m assuming he knew) about non-related work stuff while we were shopping.
In closing I will say Michael’s Harrisonburg should retrain this man on customer courtesy. We will no longer shop at the Harrisonburg location. So disappointing to...
Read moreI use this Michaels several times a year since they came to this location. Over the last few years, their coupons for percentages off have lessened, and in its place the rewards program which I use, but definitely don't love trying to use it before the rewards expire every month. I would have much preferred the 30% off coupon and the 40% off one item coupons they formerly offered more often that mostly disappeared when the rewards came into effect. Also find that the entirety of the summer season when the rewards discounts are available, much of the stock is low or completely out and even when checking back weeks later, it has not been replenished. Unfortunately, the store help is quick to tell you to order what you can't find in the store at their online site but who would want to with a $9 shipping cost (No way for that!) which would eat up any benefit of coupons and the rewards discount, especially when you have a physical store and your customer is already there ready to buy now.
Will not likely be shopping here as much in the future. This is not the same store I remember and definitely preferred when they had actual crafters who worked there and displayed finished craft items for sale and who overall took a greater interest in the customers needs than people who just stock shelves and...
Read moreFreaking ridiculous! It’s a Sunday, it’s snowing, my husband and I are in town while we wait for a load to pick up because we’re truck drivers. It’s not even 3 o’clock in the afternoon yet when we try to go into Michaels. Doors won’t open, we think ok. Maybe it’s just off the track due to the cold/snow/whatever. It happens all the time even at places like Walmart. Open the doors a little (they’re left UNLOCKED) with no notes saying anything about them being closed due to the storm, etc. NOTHING. A young man comes walking up to the doors from the registers and quite rudely tells us that the store is closed, throwing us a very bad attitude. Talking down to us like we’re stupid and beneath him. Along with another couple who were trying to get in to buy stuff for their BUSINESS, that alone was going to be over $500 in supplies. Never stopping in here again, will go to Hobby Lobby in the...
