Future home builders beware. I purchased a appliance package on Home Depot website for a home we are currently building. I ordered in November 2024 and they came in December 2024 . My cabinets were back ordered twice and then lost! Finally 3 weeks ago I finally was able to install them. All the appliances fit but the microwave. The cabinets were custom made and could not be changed. I need the smaller microwave to fit. So I go to Home Depot to exchange it for the smaller one and I honestly didn’t think that I would be told no, but I was. They have a 48 hour return policy on appliances which I didn’t know. I informed them of the situation and told them the reason they had not been installed and I just need to exchange it for the smaller one. I was told there was nothing they could do for me and the policy was 48 hours. I asked for an exception to the policy because I felt this was an exception. These appliances were delivered to a house that I can’t even live in yet and my cabinets could not be changed and i had the microwave with me and it was still in the box unopened and never been installed and i wanted to exchange it for the correct one , but it did not matter and i was told since they didn’t carry it in store I couldn’t do a exchange. I explained they sold it to me on their website and I spent $9000 for the appliances that did not matter either and was told to reach out to GE. GE was not much help either they said it was up to the store if they would take it back and they called the Harrisonburg VA store and asked the manager and they said NO. I was extremely disappointed and couldn’t believe that someone would not or even be able to help me. So future home builders make sure your appliances fit within 48 hours and don’t let them sit in garage because you don’t even have your cabinets in. I can’t speak for everyone but if you’re building a house everything gets behind. I will no longer support...
Read moreSpend your money elsewhere. The management and customer service at the Harrisonburg location is an absolute joke. As a local contractor, I purchased thousands of dollars worth of tools and materials, every month, exclusively through this Home Depot. Never again. I ordered a 12'x16' building from them that was supposed to arrive within 10 days. I paid over $3500 cash, plus shipping costs. 15 days later I still had no building and was told that it had been delivered, then to wait a couple more days, then it had been delivered, again. When I told them I would like a refund, I was told it would be given in the form of a check that would arrive in the mail within 7 business days. 7 business days later, I called the store only to be told that I had already received a cash refund and the return was closed. After explaining that I had not received anything, they told me they would look into it and call me back, which they did a few hours later. Then I was told that the check had just been mailed that day, and to wait another 7-10 business days for it to arrive. Unhappy with the whole situation, I called customer service, only to find out that this was all lies. They had never sent the check to begin with. Here it is one month later and I am still waiting on a refund for a building that I paid cash for and never received. Not only incompetent, but deceitful as well. Buy...

Stood around for an hour waiting for them to take care of other customers. After that they tell me it's sitting in a giant box and won't actually be ready to take home for another 5 days
I would suggest calling ahead to make sure your order is actually ready, but something tells me that whoever answers the phone would see the same "Ready for pickup" status I got and say that it's ready. Maybe just try Lowe's instead.
Edit: A month later, to make this even worse, they still have not refunded me the ~$1700 for the wood splitter which I cancelled the order for. Had to call corporate and they told me I needed to go back to the store to have the refund processed through the register. An order that was originally placed online and now must be processed through the register in the store. The store that's 45min away that already wasted hours of my time earlier this month. And keep in mind they NEVER informed me about this. I checked my bank statements and noticed the money never came back in from the order and had to call corporate to see what went wrong.
Go to Lowes or buy on Amazon or something. Check your statements and don't let them steal your money. This...
