Well I wanted to like it. Meal took an hour to prepare and they're not that busy. 4 parties of two were there. Other people ordered after us (ok everyone who was there after us got their food before us ...some a half hour later) ... We wanted to eat on their outdoor tables -covid- so ended up with to go boxes trying to cut a steak on foam with a plastic tiny knife ... I didn't order to go I said I wanted to eat at outside tables.

I ordered the grilled steak and chorizo .. it was given to another in my group . Waiter assured me it was not mine ... but it was. I got bizteck "steak" which was tough like under cooked potroast and gristled. I got a taste of the grilled special and it was delicious ... unfortunately I ended up eating someone else's meal that was not good. The sides were All good esp the potato salad . $60 for not what you ordered and in a foam box and over an hour later . I regretted...

Honest review check!

Pros: The food is definitely delicious, we ordered a little bit of everything, everything is freshly made, tortillas are real corn and not Maseca (thank you for that!), the bread is delicious, both sweet and savory (real Guatemalan style/taste), the place is cute and I am glad to see that they are super busy! (We ordered churrasco, Guatemalan breakfast, enchiladas, coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast sandwich and took home chiles rellenos and lots of bread!) Make sure you ask for the special of the day!!

Cons: Because everything is freshly made and they are super busy (well, we went Sunday morning) the service is a bit slow, please plan ahead and just enjoy your coffee while you await to enjoy some deliciousness (order coffee and a bread as an appetizer to open up your appetite!).

Edit: forgot to mention, amazing customer...

Yes yes yes. Originally planned on eating nearby but their food was closed for the day. I’m not from the area/ didn’t know where else to try. We saw Aurora’s google reviews and noticed it was also in walking distance. I’m so glad this is where we ended up! I think I found a new GO TO. Everything on the menu sounded good but this is my favorite way to eat breakfast. Such a well balanced and delicious meal. I got the Traditional Breakfast with Huevos Rancheros. I added a side of avocado because why not. I’ve always been interested in trying my eggs this way but never did. I saw the picture and knew this was the place to give it a shot. The coffee was simple but great, too. Next time I hope to grab the flan or tres leches. After tasting the food I’m sure the treats are just...

only passed through town and found this through maps, was pleased to see some authentic food being served out of a really sleek and modern styled cafe. i've never been around hartford so i don't know how much of a trek it could be for lunch but the prices and portions seemed on point. the food tasted fresh and handmade with a lot of love and detail. i wasn't super pleased with the sandwich because it just tasted like avocado and chorizo covered in sauces but it was pretty solid nonetheless. the appetizer of flautas was pretty bomb and i would've never thought of mixing beets with ground beef so i was thoroughly pleased. all in all can't wait to come in on a nice summer day with a group and try more food and breads, the brownie i had was also really good.

And another Hartford Gem.... authentic Guatemalan food.... portion sizes, prices all on point! This is my first time going to Aurora's and I left full and with a second serving. I ordered the churrasco Guatemalteco. I was beyond surprised of how much food I got and the menu price was $21. A delicious perfectly seasoned very tender sirloin steak, chorizo sausage . Grilled scallion... what I called Guatemalan potato salad which is called ensalada Russ. Bryson beans also complimented the meal along with a thick corn tortillas. My friend ordered a burrito and it was huge she ended up taking one half of it home with her as well.
