Definitely a 3 star burger ⭐⭐⭐ The burger is tasty but not on par with Red Robin. The bun was ok.
The fries were not bad but not the greatest. It's hard for me to think of ways they can improve the fries. Maybe it is the type of potato used? I do prefer steak fries, so that could be an option. But the fry flavor itself and the meat in the burger could both improve. Maybe source better potatoes and beef?
The inside is nice and clean. The employees are active, attentive, and friendly. Drink selection is awesome. Inside seating is nice. Pricing is perfect!! Burger and fries for less than $10 is the sweet spot and so far they have completely avoided the Bidenflation nonsense affecting most fast food. For instance, a whopper and fries at Burger King is now almost $10, but was only $7 before the stupid lockdowns of 2020.
I do like their use of pagers to let you know when your food is ready. It is a lost and forgotten technology from the 1990s that is fun and super useful. I am very glad they have it here and wish more restaurants would use it too. More fun, less yelling of order numbers, zero chance of not hearing your order being called because the pager lights up and vibrates when your order is ready.
Free parking and tons of parking. Finding a spot can be nerve racking depending on the day of the week and or time of day due to this being located in the perfect storm trio of Costco, Walmart and Chick-fil-A. Your best bet for parking is to drive to the far edge of BJs brewhouse on the side facing the airport. Nobody shopping at Costco or Walmart will park that far away from the shopping.
My one negative experience here is that the very first screen on the credit card reader that pops up after you swipe your card is a Tip screen with multiple precalculated tips to pick from. Tip for what? I told them what I want to eat. I swiped my card by myself. The order is sent to the cooks. The cashier doesn't touch my card, he or she just hands me my receipt and a pager. So how much is that service worth in a tip? One cent of effort? I would understand if this were an actual sit down restaurant like Outback or something fancier and more expensive. But this is fast food, pay yourself, seat yourself, clean up your table yourself. There is no actual service to be tipped other than handing a receipt and pager. Rediculous. If the owner or manager is reading this, please remove the tip screen. Tips should be earned based on great service and not forced or made in a way to look mandatory to proceed to the next payment screen for a credit card purchase. I even dislike tips at Red Robin, since that is not exactly a fine dining restaurant. But adding tips to fast food is a...
Read moreDecided I was in the mood for something new, so after a trip to nearby Walmart, I bounced in here for a quick dinner. The decor and the vibe is hip and modern - though it looks like any other suburban-sprawl-driven eatery you'd find in a place like Scottsdale, AZ. Seating was more designed for pairs and small groups, and had very few booths to accommodate a large family. There was one long "Starbucks-style" bar table with high chairs as well, though I cannot imagine coming here with a laptop to pretend to be "remote" working.
For $12 plus tax I got a double-patty "Char-Burger" plus a side of fries and a medium soft drink. Not a bad deal in these heavily-inflation-driven times we live in. The portion size was average. Not small, but nothing to write home about, either.
The food - was definitely a 3 out of 5. The burger patties appeared to be cooked from frozen, from what I could see from the ordering counter. The meat was just a touch dry, though not enough to qualify it as "bad." It did lack any serious beef flavor. I would put the patties (I got a double) somewhere between Burger King and Five Guys. Five guys is MUCH juicier, and has much more beef flavor, though - but you also pay a lot more at Five Guys.
The fries were also just one step above 'meh.' They were a fatter, more "steak fry" style than a shoestring, but most of the fries were very short and stubby. Served warm, they had a good balance between crispy and chewy. They did not seem overly greasy. They also definitely seem to have come from frozen. A slight touch better than the Ore-Idas living in your freezer.
Overall the place was just fine for the price. The atmosphere felt more expensive than the menu, and the food tasted on-par for the decent prices. On their cups they claim "Best Tasting Burger In America." I wonder how they can make this claim without some kind of disclaimer. However, while not a bad place to stop for a burger, it is definitely NOT the best tasting burger in America. If you want a hearty, giant, beefy-tasting moist burger, though? Stick...

Parking can be challenging at times as you have multiples stores within the complex. “One bite of a hot, juicy Charburger and suddenly you’re in Santa Barbara, California, 1969. After all, it was in that picturesque, coastal Southern California town, in the same year that the first astronauts landed on the moon, that the original Habit Burger Grill opened its doors. Soon after, an entrepreneurial young employee and his equally enterprising brother—both on a mission to provide a great burger at a great price—borrowed money from their mom to buy the unassuming restaurant nestled amongst the Spanish Colonial architecture of Goleta Beach and nearby bungalow homes. In pursuit of a new standard for freshness, they began with daily-baked buns from a local bakery and grilled them alongside perfectly seasoned beef until they were warm and toasty. They sourced fresh California produce for the ripest tomatoes and leafiest lettuce available. And, of course, they installed a stainless steel charbroiler with a cast-iron grill designed to sear smoky flavors into every burger placed upon its fiery grates. Once they earned a reputation for serving the tastiest burgers on the coast, the brothers turned their attention to other beach-inspired recipes—like a fresh-grilled ahi sandwich made with line-caught tuna; a chicken sandwich topped with crisp bacon and velvety avocado; and crisp salads made to order. Yeah, one bite of a Charburger will transport you to a place where cool ocean breezes sweep gently through majestic green palm fronds, and a time when two enterprising young brothers established what it means to...
