Update August 2025 Today we had reservations at Duke's. It was our last night. Earlier in the day we had drinks and appetizers by the bar. They were delicious as usual. Quinsea our waitress was AWESOME. She recommended her favorite sauce for the crab ragoon that made them really tasty. We also had the fish tacos which is one of our favorites. Later that evening we met Manager Lynett that made sure we were welcome and arranged for a very romantic table right by the ocean. She wanted to make sure our last night here in Maui was memorable one. Timothy our waiter was excellent, He answered all of our questions and treated us like family. The dish was Sauteed Mac Nut & Herb Crusted Fresh Fish. It was outstanding!!!!! The fresh fish was Monchong fish. If you have not had the opportunity to visit Duke's restaurant in Maui. You must. Not only do they have great food the most important thing is that they have Great people working there. They will welcome you like you were family. Thank you Quinsea, Timothy and Lynett for making our last day in Maui so special.. You all are the reason why we visit Maui. Mahalo, Juana & Manny C.
Today we did not plan our day at all. Earlier we spent some of the time at Dukes bar listening to live music with some nice drinks. Ended enjoying the beach the rest of the day and cap the evening with another beautiful sunset. Later in the evening we decided to go to Duke's for dinner. One small detail we didn't plan so we had no reservations. We were simply going to take food back to our room. We were greeted by Luke and Kawika General Manager who welcome both my wife and I to the restaurant. As soon as they could, we were taken to our table. Live music under the stars Our servers Cameron and Ruben did an awesome job in making sure that our dinner was a special one. Chord recommended an outstanding wine to compliment our dinner. Cristy and Luke came by and greeted us like family. Jacob also greeted us. Earlier he had taken care of us during lunch doing an amazing job. The Hawaiian island are gorgeous but, what really is beautiful are the Hawaiian people!! They are the reason why we visit the Hawaiian islands. The Hawaiian people are truly the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands Tonight these are the people that made the night so special for us: Cameron, Kawika, Jacob, Chord, Christy, Luke and our server Ruben.
Great job! Food was amazing and the service was spectacular.
Thank you all for making us part of your Ohana family. Juana Cristy &...
Read moreDuke's is located inside the beautiful Honua Kai Outrigger Resort, next to the swimming pools. The decor is upscale, with large hanging glass fishing balls, giant wood surf boards, hanging wood Outrigger boat n pics of Olympian 3X gold winner Duke Kahanamoku. It was busy, I suggest making reservations, although our wait was only 20 minutes. They took our phone number, we walked a few steps to the beach n waited for the text, while watching the stunning views. We were seated with an ocean view. The live musician played well known American favorites, in a slow romantic melody. Don't forget to tip him, he enhanced our experience greatly. When we mentioned to our server Amy, we hadn't been on vacation in 30 yrs, she went out of her way to make our dining experience magical. She was funny, personable, engaging n very attentive. The drinks and food presentation was beautiful and upscale, only to be outdone by the taste. We are a bit of foodies, so we know great food and great food it was. I had the creme brulee as an appetizer. It came in 3 small bowls on a platter, 1 chocolate, 1 coffee, 1 vanilla bean, with the well known torched sugar crust. My husband had the Korean sticky ribs appetizer, a tad spicy, nice bite meat came right off the bone. My husband had the furi kake Ahi steak, fresh n soft like butter. I had the banana wrapped steamed fish and shrimp, with a side order of Tristan glazed lobster tail, also soft as butter. I had a delicious Mai Tai, pineapple juice forward tasting. My husband had a Maui brewing company big swell IPA beer and we shared a lychee pineapple martini. I must say between the ambiance, ocean view, music and delicious food, it was a magical magnificent memorable, dinning experience, well worth the price. There was a woman, quietly walking around, selling handmade aromic fresh flower leis, Hawaiian nut n shell necklaces. Gentlemen and ladies, make your significant others feel like an island princess and purchase them one. That's how I felt when my husband bought me one. Bring cash for the musician tip n necklaces. 6 out of...
Read moreAs a 40-year-old mom of four, finding a dining spot that caters to both adult tastes and the unpredictable whims of children can be a challenge. Duke’s Beach House in Maui, however, manages to strike that balance beautifully.
Ambiance: Nestled along Ka’anapali’s North Beach, Duke’s offers breathtaking ocean views that captivate both adults and kids alike. The open-air seating allows for a relaxed atmosphere where the sound of waves complements the background of live Hawaiian music. It’s a setting that makes you feel like you’ve truly arrived in paradise.
Service: The staff here embodies the spirit of aloha. During our visit, our server was attentive without being intrusive, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. It’s evident that the team values genuine hospitality, making families feel welcomed and well-cared for.
Food: The menu boasts a variety of Hawaiian-inspired dishes with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I opted for the Seafood Risotto—a delightful medley of lobster, shrimp, scallops, and fresh fish nestled in a chardonnay herb risotto. Each bite was a testament to the kitchen’s dedication to flavor and quality. The kids’ menu was equally impressive, offering familiar favorites with a tropical twist, ensuring even the pickiest eaters left satisfied.
Dessert: No visit to Duke’s is complete without indulging in their famed Hula Pie. Picture a chocolate cookie crust piled high with macadamia nut ice cream, topped with chocolate fudge, whipped cream, and toasted macadamia nuts. It’s a dessert designed for sharing, though you might be tempted to keep it all to yourself.
Final Thoughts: Duke’s Beach House seamlessly blends a family-friendly environment with top-notch cuisine and mesmerizing views. It’s a place where memories are made, from watching the sunset paint the sky to savoring dishes that celebrate the essence of Maui.
