Had a pretty unfortunate experience here and will not be returning. We were looking forward to checking out this locally-owned spot, especially after seeing a few positive reviews on their coffee. 2 stars because even though the service was awful, the ube latte was good.
I asked if their açaà bowl was gluten and dairy free, they responded it's dairy free but has gluten in the granola. I asked if they would be able to leave off the granola and this seemed to irritate them. They began talking negatively amongst themselves while we were still completing our drink order and payment. The gal ringing us up even whispered back "the customers can hear you" twice - it was painfully awkward and made us feel like we had done something wrong by simply ordering. We were given the açaà bowl and first drink, then waited patiently for our second drink. After a few minutes of waiting, I was asked what I was waiting for. I kindly repeated my order and the gal turned around before I could even finish saying 'oat milk'. They made the drink without a word to me and then stuck it out the window in my general direction without saying anything or any eye contact. I had to read the writing on the cup to make sure it was my order. I said thank you with no response and left with a pit in my stomach. This was such an unexpected experience, especially with how incredible all our other stops have been throughout Maui for...

However we had a local homeless lady harass us for coming to visit the island after the wild fire disaster , was extremely unpleasant
"do you know about the fire" "do you know how many people died" "maybe you should know how many people died before visiting"
and then when we said we didn't want to speak to her, she proceeded to harass us with
"oh does this make you uncomfortable "
and proceeded to personal attacks
"oh you're from the north of ireland, so are you a protestant or catholic.. are you in the ira? are you going to get aggressive "
We're out here supporting the island and supporting small local businesses... educate us on the fires and it's lasting impact don't just harass us like that. Very sad woman
She had short hair and had a few bags and a box and a bandage wrapped around her leg. She wore a hat and sun glasses and was very tan. Just a miserable person blaming everyone around her and getting joy from making people uncomfortable
Would recommend "badass coffee" down the road just to avoid her
The owner/worker of the truck didn't say anything until she walked away and said she was crazy and apologised for her behaviour, she said most locals are not hostile like that.
If someone like that is harassing your customers you should ban them from your...
Read moreIn Maui for a week and stopped here almost every morning and were never disappointed. The butterfly teas and the hibiscus tea were amazing (a little on the sweet side so I definitely recommend them if you like sweet drinks) and the lemongrass tea was very mild and refreshing. I highly recommend the açaà bowl, it is the perfect balance of fruits, granola, and the smoothie base. The staff were always very friendly and quick with recommendations if they were out of what you wanted. They have a little bit of seating that is exclusively theirs and since it is in a food truck lot, there is plenty of bench/picnic table seating right next to it. I will definitely be back the next time...
