Starbucks — Restaurant in Hawaii

I just watched the girl making my venti cinnamon macchiato cloud look me in the eye and lie right to my face. Twice. I watched her pour two, equal sized, one ounce shots of espresso to my cold venti macchiato cloud. (Hot gets 3 but cold is supposed to get 3) I asked her where my third shot was and she said she put it in. Lie 1. I took a drink and realized she made me the caramel one and not the cinnamon. (It’s my favorite drink and I have at least one everyday after work) I told her this was the caramel one. She said “no we just drizzle a little caramel on top also”, which is true but there was no cinnamon anywhere, whatsoever and it was hella thick with caramel at the bottom. I watched her make the entire drink from start to finish and she never once picked up the cinnamon. After pouring the two shots she put caramel on top and put a lid on it. I’ve seen baristas in the past offer to make a second one if I wasn’t satisfied with my drink and or admit if they make a mistake. Rarely happens but we’re human. I’ve never had one straight up lie to me and not offer to fix it. I doubt confronting her further would have made any difference, especially since she’s just going to...

I'm not giving any starbucks more than the stars and i want to kind of apologize to the staff for that. But Starbucks in general is neither the best nor the most affordable coffee anywhere. This is especially true in Hawaii.

To any visitors, go to any local coffee farm to taste real coffee! You are literally an hour drive from Kona. THE Kona known for the best coffees on the planet.

That being said I totally had an iced latte and it was super convenient and a completely mid experience. The staff was great, service was fast, and it tasted exactly the same as the Starbucks in every other state or airport or Safeway I've ever walked into before so at least you know what to expect and there is something to be said for consistency I suppose.

But shame on both of us for not patronizing a local establishment just because this place is on the corner. I'm satisfied, but I'm also ashamed.

Starbucks is always good cause it seems as though they’re every where! I cannot say they never get my drink wrong or they’re always stocked with their menu items BECAUSE NOT TRUE!!! But there are Starbucks diehards and there are Coffee diehards! When visiting our state of Hawaii or any state or country - support small business, support local small business! So many local small business put their heart and soul into their work! Yes, you may pay a little more but you truly invest into the families in each town, each community and each district - as Hawaii really don’t have cities!
