McDonald's — Restaurant in Hawthorne

I have been to this location at least 5 plus times and have always had a negative experience whether its forgotten sauce, no straws, a missing item or sometimes all of the above, however this time I could not forgive this mistake. I am normally not someone who writes or complains as I also work in food and hospitality however this involves the health and safety of me and future patrons. I had ordered 2 diet cokes for our drinks specifically because my partner is type one diabetic, however after consuming our meal his blood sugar completely skyrocketed from 115 to nearly 400-only to realize our drinks were not Diet Coke at all but regular coke. While we searched for our receipt to double check if maybe it was my mistake while ordering (unlikely as we only order Diet Coke) we unfortunately were not provided with one. As someone who works late and McDonalds is the only open option at times, this location is one I always skip and am willing to drive farther from home to avoid this awful careless location for the sake of my boyfriends safety. This time we made an exception since we intended to charge the car at a charging spot across the street but will not make the same mistake again. As I mentioned, while I never am one to complain (and I dont even want or expect anything from this), I just want to bring it to the attention of those in charge for the safety of others as this location needs severe retraining or to be monitored because without fail has something...

The Baseline: This is a McDonald's review so there is a baseline for McDonald's. The baseline is that burgers, fries, shakes, and soda are prepared well done with properly applied ingredients that should taste the same if you get it in Florida, Montana, or in California. The Coke machines should always have their extra filtration method that makes them taste better than any other restaurant. That is the McDonald's baseline.

Food: Food is McDonald's food. You come here because you want it to be standardized. I found my best methods of maximizing my McDonald's experience is using the app. It is more affordable to add +1 meat patties, extra pickles, etc. rather than buying additional items. Also the app provides rewards and deals (i.e. $1.49 Large fries if you select the deal through the app). The coke is spot on fully filtrated at this location.

Service: Staff has been very efficient and friendly when I pick up curb side and I have found my orders to be more exact on my customizations when I use that method. Plus I use the app a lot so it is very efficient.

Atmosphere: This is a very clean and updated McDonald's, so it is good on atmosphere. I typically get my food delivered curb side as I like to relax in my car rather than constantly inch forward in the drive through. The only thing you have to watch out for is the occasional beggar who will try to engage with you.

I'm always driving by this location and it is always hit or miss. Whether 6:00am, or 10:00pm this place is the image of inconsistency from the food taste, to the temperature, to the service. I would say 80% of the time the fries, which have a special place in my stomach and heart, are tepid, rubbery or stale (again inconsistent) representations of the glory they used to be 10-15 years ago. The entrées are never that warm either, sometimes the sandwiches are not warm enough to melt the cheese put on them. Tonight this store reached a new low in its quest to disappoint. I used the restroom first to clean up after getting off work around 9:30pm, when an employee rushed in, used the disabled persons toilet which means he had to touch more surfaces than just the urinal, quickly finished, sprayed some water on his hands and ran out. I approached the shift manager and informed her. She questioned all the employees working in the restaurant until one finally snapped "Yeah that was me, I'M ON, MY BREAK!" To which she said nothing. I needed to eat and wanted to leave but stayed since he was not actively working. The fries were actually not bad, the double quarter pounder was fine, I was in disbelief. I haven't been able to get a hot meal here in a while. I'm still disgusted at this place though, and will be visiting less in the future. I was unfortunately at the mercy the late...
