3/2/18 - No improvement, this place just continuously gets worse over time. Service was sub par, I am pretty sure our waitress was a leftover from the last diner in Ohio, shocked that she wasn't chewing gum, and calling me "Hon". My steak was trimmed to death, the baked potato was so cold it wouldn't melt the butter, the spinach was so cold, it had to go back. Cold mushrooms, yuck! Spilled some coffee and four people walked by that we could not get their attention, the waitress served the salad and when she put the plate down in the spill, then remembered that we asked for extra napkins... And the pricing is insane, steak dinner for two without any alcohol was just under a hundred bucks. Who the heck wants to pay almost fifty dollars to be ignored, and then served cold food? Not me, that's for sure. I will NOT be going back. I would rather drive to either the Pickerington, or Hamilton locations, where the food and service is far superior. Heath Longhorn is now Persona non-Grata... bye Felecia
6/18/16 - The service this time was absolutely horrible, our waitress had the personality of a wet dishrag and matching skills. Had to ask her twice for everything. I had to speak to the manager to get extra butter for crying out loud. They brought out a loaf of frozen bread, I kid you not, it was actually frozen inside. They forgot to bring out a salad. They completely forgot the appetizers and brought out our dinners. Apparently even the quality of the steaks has dropped drastically, as they are trying to pass off a trimmed T-Bone steak for a Porterhouse these days. A steak cooked medium now means raw and bloody. I felt rushed and ignored at the same time. Not what you would expect of a good steak house. The waitress never even bothered to check on us. They never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. I am dropping them down two stars for their sad performance.
Decor is fine as usual, Southwestern, although the table we were seated at was quite wobbly, perhaps they need some maintenance. We went in the afternoon so I assume they gave us the lunch menus, one card stock print, I prefer the more luxurious menu in the leather bound book format. Ah well.
Service this visit was terrible, a request for a table for five came with four chairs, I asked for two kids menus because I figured the kid would play with one and we could read the other, they gave us two kids utensil roll ups so I had only a fork and a spoon, no knife. I had told the waitress the kid (my Grandson) was “starving” when I ordered the chicken tenders, figuring they would serve that with the appetizers or at least bring them out first. No such luck, no extra napkins, no bus service, I stacked the empty bread plates and appetizer plates all very high on the corner of the table thinking maybe someone would see it and take them away, no, they sat there. Honestly Our waitress never come to check on us, never bused the table, never checked if I needed more coffee, and no matter how much I looked around, I never saw her. No manager was to be seen at any time during the whole meal.
Since this is not a first review, I will skip the prices and bathrooms critique.
Food quality was sub par, the bread was crushed and not cut all the way through, it was gone in under a minute, nobody came and asked if we wanted more. One filet came out woefully overcooked, the baked carrots looked horrible as well as tasted horrible. My baked potato tasted like it had been reheated. The sweet potato has hardly any cinnamon on it, this is not what I have come to expect, It was disappointing. On the plus side their spicy chicken bites and cheddar mushrooms were excellent.
Overall this visit was mediocre and not up to Longhorns usual standards, I will certainly still go back again, but come on guys, step it up will you?
From a while ago; This is one of my regular places, best steaks in town, everything from the service to the cocktails is very good, now if only they could shorten the...
Read moreOne of our favorites places to eat… but yesterday’s lunch took well over an hour. The new server Jayden obviously needed more training and told us he had only been on the job two weeks. This was after the wrong salads were delivered to the table and caused much confusion with staff and two other tables (where do these go)? BTW, the salads when they arrived were the best part of lunch. So after confessing he entered wrong tables into the system, we watched two other tables that were seated after us get their food before us. I hate that. A manager lurking in the doorway watched the salad fiasco, but never checked on any tables and only communicated with staff. He did help bus tables, but I don’t think I would want the ketchup bottle after he put it under his armpit…🤔 The food… the wait was so long I was getting hangry, but if you see butter sitting on top of your mash potatoes, please send them back, yes they were cold. By the time the server Jayden checked on us, I was half way finished eating. I explained the potatoes were cold, chicken Luke warm, and the wife’s steak was tuff. He diverted the conversation by saying the previous table was all compliments to the chefs, that didn’t help us right! No empathy, no replacement offered, not really anything. I still tipped 20% with cash, but will have second thoughts returning to this location. It’s really not about Jayden, but lack of training, support and follow up from management. BTW, the hostess was the hardest working person in the restaurant, she was always busy busing, cleaning, seating… I hope they tip split, if not she...
Read moreI want to preface my review by saying our experience is in no way reflective of our main server or the management staff. My husband and I went out for dinner tonight, we started out at the bar to enjoy a few drinks before being seated. The server at the bar took 10+ mins to acknowledge our presence, when she finally took our drink order it took another 15 mins for her to come back and ask if we wanted to order. At that point we weren’t sure if we were staying due to the service but took menus just in case. As we were making our decision to leave, they were ready to seat us. When we sat down, it took another 10 mins for our server to address us and begin to take our order. She was friendly, and overall great. But it took over an hour from the time we sat down to get our dinner. Which was cooked incorrectly, my husband ordered a steak medium and it came out well done, the server didn’t even finish her question when asking how our food was. She knew immediately it was wrong. The manager came over and made the decision to comp most of our meal, even though we offered to pay for everything except his steak. We appreciated their efforts to rectify the situation and will try again (although this is our second experience like this at this location over the last 6 years). But with this being said, either their staffing level or their choice in staff...
