It ain’t pretty to look at but the tacos were as good as any we’ve had a taco shop. Each had enough meat on it that if you saved one of your tortillas (they come with 2), you can make a 3rd by scooping up the meat that fell out of the 2 you were served. No salsa bar because of COVID-19, I’m guessing, but make sure to ask for their salsas as they are available in small cups with lids. The sauce in the picture is their spiciest one, likely made with arbor chilis. I like habanero hot and this one was adequate. Better than bottled sauce. The Mrs. had carne asada and I had the el pastor. Juicy, flavorful meat. Google Maps shows “no dine-in” but we sat at the table in front, outside of course. Everyone else who ordered after us took theirs to go. It appeared that tables were available inside that were 6 feet apart. We don’t get to go to Heber that often but when we do we have a favorite taco shop to stop by now.

Grandma and I stopped by for a bite after a big rain storm. Rain makes granny feel feisty and willing to try new things so we stopped by El Guero. Now, if it’s your first time, you have to order the molcajete. Literally the best Mexican dish in the valley (and grandma loves to point out just how many Mexican places there are). But we decided to go off script and order the super nachos and chilaquiles. Unreal, some of the best Mexican I’ve had. The seating is a little different and the place gets packed but that’s not a negative. It feels like my little Mexican home away from home. Stop by, order something crazy on a rainy day and make a night to remember.

We went camping in strawberry for a few days, came down threw Heber and looked everywhere for authentic Mexican food. man I tell you what; we spotted this place in hopes of authenticity, and to my surprise this place was all I was looking for food was delicious the quality was on point the setting everything was perfect kudos to the owner. I would recommend this place to everyone who loves Mexican food as much as I do! Side note I got huevos con Churrizo and I ate it all (completely satisfied) *nopicture my girl got the burrito in the pic so sorry halfway ate and was all served beautifully

This location has hosted several restaurants in recent years. The last time we ate here it was an upscale gastropub. But we've always had a good meal, so we gave the new restaurant a try. Tacos el Güero is Mexican. You order at the counter, take your number, and take a seat either indoors or at one of the few outdoor patio tables. Takeout is also available. There's not a full wait staff but the food is brought to you and plates are bussed for you, so consider adding a tip when you order. Prices are very reasonable. Drinks include bottled options and fountain drinks, and there's a decent selection of snacks you can purchase at the counter on the way out - a feature I've noticed at many of our favorite Mexican restaurants. The menu board is densely packed, so if you like it, expect to return many times before you've exhausted your options and hit a repeat.

The dining area is clean and well kept but not fancy. Tables with steel chairs, some booths against the walls. There's a VERY well-equipped salsa bar next to the soda fountain. A USMC flag flies proudly from the rafters.

The food arrived quickly. The beans looked the way they should - if you've been to a restaurant with sketchy refried beans you know what I mean - and tasted great. The meat portions (fajitas for my wife, carnitas for me) were generous, juicy, and delicious. The tortillas - my wife likes flour, I chose corn - arrived piping hot and held together perfectly. Everything on the plate was excellent there was too much to finish. We left satisfied.

We moved from southern California to Orem so we're willing do do a bit of driving for decent, authentic Mexican food. Tacos El Guero just gave us a great reason to make the drive to...

This was the nastiest Mexican food we’ve ever eaten. First of all, they were so slow taking orders, there was only 3 parties in front of us and we waited close to 10 mins just to order. We ordered a pulled pork chimichanga, beef burrito, and kids quesadilla. The beef burrito was undercooked, cold. The cheese wasn’t even melted. So we told the staff and they offered to make another one, great. Then comes the chimichanga, which took at least 15 mins to come out. The first few bites were good but then I get to the meat part, it wasn’t even shredded, literally a huge piece of pork that I had to cut myself. The meat tasted disgusting, it just was not fresh. Then came the worst part, my fork hit something hard… it was a 3” piece of bone 😀 at that point I was so done. I waved the staff over and asked if there was supposed to be a bone in it ?! And he just starts to take my plate and says they’ll make me another one. Um actually no I don’t want another one, I want my money back. Y’all already messed up both of our orders. The only thing they had right was the kids quesadilla… except they gave us a huge fork for it, we had to ask for a smaller fork, it’s literally a kids dish why would you give us a gigantic fork. They ended up refunding us for the chimichanga so I’ll give them that. But we will never be back and neither should you. Not worth even trying. Also the kids quesadilla was only one tortilla folded in half with cheese and some rice on the side for $8 😃😃😃 be so fr Go to...

Before I began if they accept the payment they certainly can accept the review. The burrito and tacos both had fresh veggies, fresh sauce, fresh tortilla, HOWEVER the chicken in both of these was over cooked and hard to chew. Almost to the taste of chicken jerky.

Nevertheless, a hard days work and not wanting to exhaust my end of day energy reserve, I enjoyed this less than half satisfactory meal at a rate of $30.00 plus a custom tip.

Two bits of advise. This is not authentic Mexican food. This was overcooked over priced and the reality is the meat used should have been discarded and made with fresh chicken that is tender and tastes fresh .

Not to mention the grilled jalapeño peppers were cold upon serving. How and why would you sale cold items in a restaurant to customers wanting a hot fresh meal???? I will never understand this.

Secondly, it’s bad enough they are charging you for this type of prepared meal, I advise you tip after you try your meal, not at the time you pay. This day I trusted the hype about this restaurant, but in the same day they lost my repeat business.

Terrible Terrible...
