For Mother's Day, I decided to try a new restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing, largely due to the manager's demeanor.
The issue began when we requested an iced dirty chai latte, and the server informed us that they couldn't make iced drinks during busy periods. This seemed confusing, as iced drinks are typically prepared in the same way as their hot counterparts, simply by adding ice. Instead, we opted for a dirty chai latte with a cup of ice on the side. (They did end up bringing the drink with ice in it and it was yummy and I thanked the waiter)
When our meals arrived, they appeared delicious, and the breakfast burrito was indeed very good. However, we faced a problem with the "eggs your way" dish. We requested over medium eggs, but what was served had runny egg whites. We brought this to the manager's attention and asked for two more eggs cooked over medium instead of over easy. The manager insisted that the eggs were cooked with butter and were indeed over medium. To clarify, I turned the plate to show him the issue. He agreed to have two more eggs made.
Unfortunately, when the new eggs arrived, they were even runnier and closer to over easy. At that point, I decided to forgo the eggs entirely. In response, the manager asked us to leave the restaurant, claiming that I was being rude to his staff and to him. I assured him that my intention was simply to request the eggs be cooked correctly and to have ice with my drink. He left and then returned with my to-go order for my son because he couldn't come with us and then said we wouldn’t have to pay the bill.
Given this experience, I will not return to this restaurant. It’s worth noting that I have worked in the restaurant industry for about six years and would have handled the situation very differently. I hope that future diners receive their meals as ordered, as it seems that expressing concerns may lead to misunderstanding and conflict.
Lastly, The responses from management to unsatisfactory customer reviews illustrate a concerning pattern. Instead of addressing the feedback constructively, these replies often appear defensive or dismissive. This approach suggests a lack of commitment to improving the establishment based on customer insights, raising questions about the organization's dedication to customer...
Read moreThis place is incredible. If you’re wondering whether to give it a shot or not, let this be a resounding ‘yes’. This is one of those places where the food is the star. Our group ordered the banana/strawberry Nutella crepe, avocado toast, carnivore breakfast fries, Day ‘n’ Nite burger and the stuffed French toast. Everything was a hit and tasted amazing. I personally had the stuffed French toast and it was one of the best French toast dishes I’ve had in a long time; with a unique and artisanal spin. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back many times.
Edit: Returned and tried the Brown butter egg Benedict. I’ve never had a Benedict before as it seemed like something that would never appeal to me, but the chef Lorenzo recommended it. It was one of the best brunch dishes I’ve ever had. We sat at the bar and watched Lorenzo cook the whole meal. He is an incredible chef and extremely personable, chatting with us the whole time while he whipped up amazing dish after amazing dish. Both visits we started with the banana Nutella crêpe and added strawberries, and I’ll have to say it’s probably the best crêpe I’ve ever had. We also tried their hashbrowns, which are very atypical and unique and delicious, as well as the pulled pork breakfast burrito. It was amazing like everything else. I can confidently say that this is some of the best food in all of Heber City. They are starting a dinner menu soon and I’m excited to check it out. Don’t be fooled by the low-key appearance of the restaurant. Lorenzo was one of the head chefs over at Copper Onion in Salt Lake City, as well as Stein Erickson Lodge in Deer Valley and it shows. Once they’re more established they plan to remodel the interior, which, for some people will help, but for me, it’s all about the food and the people. I can say I’ve tried every single restaurant in Heber, and this one is top of the list. Also, Rudy the server is always on point and every bit is friendly. It’s no wonder this place is making waves without even having their sign out yet. Excited to try the whole...
Read moreMy mom, sisters and I came from Orem for bison burgers. After looking at the menu, and talking to our helpful and friendly waiter, only our mom got the bison burger. One of my sisters and I share some rare food allergies. The staff was so good to check ingredients in the salad dressing and stuffed french toast and let us know they did find those allergens present. Their efforts were above and beyond. We all shared the carnivore breakfast fries and joked about who was going to lick the plate. Mom said the bison burger was perfect. I had the oyster mushroom eggs Benedict. I hadn't had eggs Benedict before and was delighted with every bite. The capers were a thrilling addition. One of my sisters said that I will probably be disappointed with eggs Benedict after this experience because it is rare to get food this good. She had the salmon eggs Benedict and was in heaven. She said this was a rare food experience her and she would need to come back soon. I honestly don't remember what my other sister ordered, but it looked lovely and after every bite she chewed with her eyes closed. I'm visiting from out of state but will need to put this on the agenda the next time I come out for a visit. I hope you don't become to "poshy" because this was perfectly comfortable! We have been coming to Heber since we were kids and think this is a fantastic addition and you just belong in Heber the way you are. Thank you for a...
