I was pleasantly surprised with my experience of buying a Yamaha Wolverine RMAX 4 UTV from Karl Malone Motorsports in my town of Heber City, Utah. I’m a 73-yr-old widow who had wanted a side by side off-road vehicle for over 7 years, prior to my husband passing away 4 years ago. With zero knowledge of these fun vehicles I was literally at the mercy of my salesman, Duncan, the finance manager, Colton, the parts manager, Adam, and the general manager, Copeland. But they were sooo helpful and knowledgeable that I felt confident relying on their expertise as I explained what I wanted and how I’d be using this vehicle. They were able to find me a beautiful used Wolverine—-only 56 miles on it—-down at their dealership in Salt Lake City and had it transported up to their dealership in Heber City the very next day. They had it washed and waiting for me in the showroom and I immediately fell in love with it! We got all the paperwork done and after their team checked it out and prepped it, I was able to have a friend tow it home for me. I bought a used trailer along with it from them but I just didn’t feel confident in it and decided I wanted to return it and buy a new one. Copeland was completely understanding and refunded the entire trailer purchase price. I proceeded to buy a brand new trailer and with the help of my best and most knowledgeable male friends, I’ve learned to load and unload “Ginny” onto the trailer and tow it with my 30’ motorhome! It’s a steep learning curve and I still need to conquer “backing it up” but my buddies are right here to teach me! And not only do I consider these employees and several others there, my friends now, I got the meet the MAILMAN himself, Karl Malone, and converse with him twice! That was a definite plus! I’m sure I will have an ongoing relationship with these fine folks and I highly recommend this dealership. It’s one thing for an experienced male off-roader to walk into a dealership and confidently converse with his salesman and support staff but entirely the opposite when a senior citizen woman walks in with literally zero knowledge of this fun hobby! I appreciate the relationship I have developed with the entire staff and even stopped by yesterday to show them “Ginny”, my new trailer, and my 30’ motorhome that I had just driven all the way down to Salt Lake City for some maintenance on my MH! Pretty proud of myself! Thank yous to the entire...
Read moreLong review but lots of damage done and almost attacked. Needed a few things fixed and replaced on my dirt bike so I took it into the new place in town. One of the things was a carb tune for my Lectron carb. They Said it took them 6 hours to tune. I said I'm not paying, and they pretty much said OK and got me out of there as fast as they could. I find out they broke it and jerry rigged it back together with glue. Essentially setting it up to fail while I'm out in the mountains. They blamed the carb and said "you have to leave it how it comes on the bike (my 2004 Yamaha). It shouldn't be tampered with". It's only an aftermarket carb and of course made to easily tune on the trail. Eventually got them to replace the carb except they didn't tune it just threw it on the bike, so it didn't run. Made them tune it, still didn't work well so I learned how to rebuild the carb (super easy) part of why Lectron and Smart carbs are one of the biggest up grades you can do. Also had them replace my radiators which they did wrong. Two holes in the hoses and clamps on loose and not all they way so I took them off replaced all the hoses and put them back on correctly. Didn't say anything to them but my tank was empty after one of my visits. When it wouldn't start one of them kept trying to say to put it on reserve while the other would cut him off every time he tried. A lot of weird things said. Treaded bad the whole time and thats not even all that happened. This place would for sure be rated worse if 0 stars was an option
It's now the next summer and my dad trys to take his regular carburater in for a problem. They recognized him as he helped me deal with them last summer. They saw him walk in the door and started cussing him out. Saying they wouldn't touch anything of ours. The one guy said he personally payed for the thousand dollar lecteon carb. Meaning he made the call to glew my broken one. After some more yelling my dad walks out and as he's mid way to his car a mechanic comes out of the garage and runs at him like he wants a fight. My dad said "what are you going to do" a couple times implying atack a coustumer. If he went through with it, he would have attacked someone who gets to use the senior discount at the movie theater. So he walked back into the shop all mad and...
Read moreI had an absolutely terrible experience with this dealer in October of last year. I was looking to purchase a $5000 generator and wanted to explore financing options. I specifically requested a soft pull on my credit to avoid any hard inquiries. However, they completely disregarded this and pushed for hard pulls, which I did not consent to.
To make matters worse, they tried charging me a $400 destination fee for the generator, as if it were a car. I reluctantly agreed because I needed the generator, but things only got worse from there. After spending over 3 hours at the dealership, they still couldn’t offer me any financing options. Fine, I thought, no financing—I'll just pay with my existing credit card. But when I asked to remove the destination fee since I was picking the generator up myself, they refused.
Then, they postponed the pickup to the next business day. I left, frustrated, but decided to shop around and see if I could find a better deal. To my surprise, two other places in Salt Lake had the generator in stock and laughed at the idea of charging a destination fee for a generator. It was clear that the destination fee was completely unjustified.
To make matters even worse, the dealership didn’t even contact me the next morning to finalize the sale. I had to chase them down, but the associate I had been working with was off that day. I ended up purchasing the generator from Salt Lake City the next morning, and they even offered free delivery.
But the worst part? I found out that not only did they fail to provide any financing options, but they also hit me with not one, but TWO hard inquiries on my credit report without my consent! This dealership clearly doesn’t care about its customers and will do whatever it takes to hurt your credit score.
I am extremely disappointed and would give this place zero stars if I could. Stay away from this place if you value your credit or your time. This was an absolute nightmare, and I would never recommend...
