I don't really give five-star ratings very often. Because to me a five-star rating means the place is perfect. So most restaurants are good, but not perfect.
This restaurant so far is as close to perfect as I've found.
It's no secret that steakhouses are kind of pricey, so to find a steakhouse that's a couple dollars cheaper than all the other ones, AND the steak is just as good if not better is as close to perfect as things are going to be in this economy!
LongHorn's has consistently provided me with great quality steaks, as well as great service. I don't go to steakhouses very often, but when I do, here lately I've just been going to LongHorns because they've NEVER screwed up my order, the stakes are always so juicy and seasoned to perfection, and the staff doesn't seem like they hate their life.
Unhappy employees always end up giving shitty service. The employees I've come across are always chipper and helpful.
I just recently discovered by ordering a steak salad that there's a certain thing they do with the steak for that dish where they coat the whole steak in crushed peppercorn before they throw it on the grill so when it comes off of the grill it has this nice crispy shell that is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
I don't know why they don't advertise that for their normal steaks, but my waiter said he can definitely tell the cook to make an entire steak that way if I'd like to do that next time, (which I 100% WILL BE DOING!).
If I had one complaint, it would be that this place doesn't offer as much of a variety of different cuts of steak as Outback Steakhouse bc I think Outback is still the king as far as varieties of different steaks. (Bring us a prime rib Longhorn!)
Speaking of comparisons, there's also Saltgrass Steakhouse.
Again, not a bad Steakhouse at all, but I feel like they have the least variety of different steaks and they also seem to be the priciest out of the three for some reason or another.
So yeah, all in all, if you're looking for a good steak, with good service, and a slightly better deal, Longhorn's is definitely...
Read moreI had an unfortunate experience while dining in. I had been looking forward to celebrating the upcoming arrival of my child with my grandmother and my sons at one of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, this visit fell well below the standards I’ve come to expect from LongHorn. When we arrived, our waitress greeted us, but it took about 7–10 minutes before she returned to take our drink orders. We decided to order our food at the same time. It was quite a while before our drinks were finally brought to the table, despite there only being four guests in our party. When our meals arrived, I had ordered the Outlaw Ribeye, a loaded baked potato, and a side of broccoli. However, it took approximately 10 minutes before our server came back to check on us. At that point, I asked for melted butter and my broccoli, which were missing. She returned with regular butter instead of melted, which prevented me from even starting my meal. After another 10–15 minutes, my broccoli finally arrived. By then, my steak and potato were cold, and the rest of my family had already finished eating and received to-go boxes. I was so frustrated that I had to take my food home just to enjoy it warm. Additionally, every time our server approached the table, she seemed rushed, barely giving us a chance to ask for anything before she walked away again. I had only ordered water, which I finished quickly (especially being pregnant), but it was never refilled a very basic service expectation that was overlooked. We paid our bill, but I left extremely disappointed. Before departing, I spoke with the manager on duty and informed her that while our server was polite, the overall service was very poor. This was, without question, the worst experience I have ever had at LongHorn. Just a week prior, I had dined at the Katy location at 20636 Katy Fwy, and left them a glowing Google review because of their excellent service. Sadly, I cannot say the same about this visit. Just disappointment especially during what should have been a...
Read moreIt was my sons birthday and about 2pm. My son wanted steak sandwiches, and to try someplace new. Parking was OK, seems like the kind of place that parking around noon would be frustrating. Walked inside and waited to be greeted. Decided to go to bar because no one was at the front door and we were just standing there with no one in sight, but as soon as we turned to go to the bar, a lady popped out from around the corner and sat us at the booth directly behind the hostess stand. After our long walk to the booth with trash on the floor, we sat down, and were menued and as soon as we looked up she was gone. We saw I guy run by the booth twice, but he didn't say anything. Turns out 12 minutes later, we find out that he was our waiter and not just someone jogging through the restaurant. I get it they are understaffed and he was doing the best he could, he was polite and kind. We both ordered the steak sandwiches medium rare with potato fries and the mushroom appetizer. The mushrooms were good, warm, and cheesy. The sandwiches came out well done and way, way, way, and I can't stress this enough, way overseasoned. It took the waiter forever to get back to us and again not his fault, he gladly had them remake the sandwiches. When they came back they were cooked medium and the waiter had put the special sauce on the side and that made a huge difference the sauce was part of the problem; however, the steaks were very salty. So if your taste buds have died and you just like the texture, this might be the right place for you. The one thing that I didn't get, is that never once did a manager come by any of the tables to see how everything was going. This poor waiter is just left to fend for himself with no support. No wounder no one wants to work as a waiter. Waiter was nice and I do believe he was doing the best he could with what he had to deal with. Bottom line: Server was nice, service was slow, food wasn't good, and the managers don't care about their guests. Go to...
