This is a wonderful local (Spring Valley Village) breakfast and brunch restaurant-style bakery. It has plenty of free parking in a plaza-style lot in front of Kroger, with two immediately accessible parking spots for the disabled. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner options all day. It focuses more on food (salads, wraps, soups, and sandwiches) than its drinks, so do not expect a barista-style cafe. Also, while 'bakery' is in the name, I didn't readily see breads like rolls or sourdoughs, though I didn't inquire about them. They do, however, have a selection of pastries. The place is large for a cafe, with ample indoor and some outdoor seating. The pictures of local landmarks on the walls suggest they take great pride in being a part of the Spring Valley Village community. The menu is phenomenal and quite healthy. I had the Morning Rush Bacon Wrap, and it was incredibly well made. The bacon was cooked well with a good snap without being overly dry. The vegetables (roasted tomatoes and spinach) tasted fresh AND ripe despite being cooked (the spinach was not overdone), and the scrambled eggs were cheesy, creamy, and wonderfully tender. The price I paid for the wrap and coffee was around $10, which I found very reasonable for a small brunch. Given the amount of food for the price, I'd expect to pay about double that if I'd ordered one of their larger entrees. It was my first visit, and I let the attendant know right after greeting them. I was quickly presented with a physical menu, and we walked through it together to make my choice. Then, I was briefed on their rewards program. I was handed a table card and, after a short wait, the food was brought to me. My order came with a small, "self-pour" coffee. It was room temperature, as the coffee dispenser appeared to be off despite having coffee in it. I let the worker know, and he quickly rectified the situation, handing me a new cup. Then they made an entirely new batch, which took only a few minutes. I mean it... it was very quick. All in all, I had a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend it to my loved ones and visit again. This is all because I have never been to a place that looked so professionally polished and yet treated me with a level of service that made me feel like I was doing business DIRECTLY with a primary stakeholder/owner. In fact, I am still not completely certain whether the degree of service I received was from an employee or a stakeholder that shoulders high interest in the business' success. If you want great, healthy food at a good price served in a comfortably relaxing spot with phenomenal...
Read moreThis place is a joke! They have you people fooled! I was a very reliable, hardworker there. I had plenty of customers that loved me. I made their day better than what a manager would. First of, KRIS VOLK WRONGFULLY Terminated me because I couldn't do a double one day because I was getting sick. I was sneezing and coughing. What kind of manager wants a employee that is coming down with a cold to work around food. On top of that, they are declining my unemployment. I was there 2 years... HOW IN THE WORLD AM I NOT RELIABLE. I was always there! I went one week being sick, feeling under the weather and I get terminated. They treat us so bad there, and half the stuff that goes on there is ridiculous and disgusting. They re use the same soups until there is no more. Old soup is mixed with new soup. The sweets in the display stay there over night numerous times. they'd get stale. Their "fruit" smoothies are not fruit at all. Their eggs are not shell eggs. Milk is always expired, and they still continue to use it. When customers would complain about their order being wrong, they would re make it and spit in it, or have an attitude. Majority of employees and a couple managers there would do drugs in the bathroom. Half the employees there don't even have legal citizenship papers. Victoria Loveday was very racist and so rude to customers. Keyondria & Cristina never used gloves. Keyondria would roll her eyes at people. Sofia would pick at the food after it was baked. Kris Volk, Lendon, Cristina lied to my unemployment case worker saying I wasn't a good worker. When I actually trained Kris before he became manager. As for Cristina, she would beg me to cover peoples shift.. So how am I not reliable? So there is the truth that you do not know about them. They don't care about anything or anybody except money. Employees stealing from registers. Its sad. I use to love my job. As soon as Kris came in he made it very difficult for me to work there. At times, I did believe that he was racist and he did not like Latinos because the way he would talk to us... I really hope they change their ways there. Its sad how bad they went ... When Ron, Josh were there it was awesome. No complaints. Nothing! Now, all you see if bad reviews about food, or customers. I always had good reviews with my name on it. That right there should tell you...
Read moreI would give a much higher rating because I enjoyed the cappuccino, however my experience there was met bitterly at the end yesterday.
I went there for an application and to also just enjoy some good coffee and have a small breakfast. At first when I went to the front, the manager was pleasant at first, and told me to give it to him once I was done. I enjoyed my coffee and finished the application and I saw the manager was busy, seeing as they were understaffed, which I understood, so I waited and went to give the application to the cashier, because I understood, they were busy and wasn't trying to distract the manager who was running food. The cashier called the manager to take my application, which again I was more than happy to just hand it over to anyone as long as I was sure they had gotten my application.
So tell me why the manager rudely turns to ME and says "just put it on the counter, I don't have time for you, you can see I am busy"
I was taken aback because I wasn't even trying to bother him, I was just trying to turn in my application to ANYONE who may be free and so it wasn't just left in the open.
I get it, I was interested in a position, but you would not speak that way to a guest, nor should you speak that way to a potential employee. I can only imagine how you talk to your employees in that case. I believe the managers name was John? Something with a J. Either way, that was extremely unprofessional and I am no longer interested to say the least to be considered for employment.
I wish you all the luck and hopefully this manager learns how to speak to people and not take their stress and frustrations out on a...
