Memorial Bakery — Restaurant in Hedwig Village

I needed 2 dozen cookies as party favors for an out of town baby shower. I chose this bakery from their Google reviews and the number of satisfied customers. However, I was very disappointed with the quality of the cookies I purchased. I called in the order vs. purchasing online because the colors I needed were not listed, but the designs looked great. The ordering process was simple and quick and I referenced the online pictures/options during the conversation. When I picked up the order today, the cookies I recieved were sloppy, runny, poor quality and nothing like the pictures online. When I questioned the differences, I was told that the pictures online were a custom order done for a previous customer (How would i know that and why wasn't it explained to me when I said I wanted the cookies shown on their website?) and what I recieved was what they usually give customers. I am disappointed and surprised that they would even sell cookies that looked like a small child decorated them in a hurry. After haggling for at least a 20% discount to address the obvious customer servicce fail, I left feeling very angry and frustrated, because ultimately, I did not recieve what was advertised. I will not be recommending them to anyone who wants a quality product. I'll post the "What I ordered vs What I recieved"...

Excellent Customer Service I found a cake picture on Pinterest and contacted Rachel to see if they could make it for our baby shower. Rachel responded promptly, answered all of our questions, and guided us to choose the right flavor/filling/type. Our baby shower was on Sunday and they don't normally do delivery on Sundays, but they went out of their way to help the-mom-to-be worry less and make our event as easy as possible. They delivered the cake on time on a Sunday morning, and helped me carry the cake to the 19th floor and set up the cake before the shower started.

Stunning cake The cake is exactly what I was hoping for, from the colors, the fondant icing on top of the cake, the patterns on the icing, to the fondant cake topper, everything was just done to perfection! All of our guests were beyond impressed by the cake, it was definitely one of the highlights of our baby shower. The cake not only looks good, it tastes even better. The cake is moist and fluffy, sweetness level is just right, the vanilla creme filling was light and creamy, even the fondant icing tastes delicious.

*If you're looking for custom cookies, do not waste your money at Memorial Bakery. We have used Memorial Bakery for several special occasions in our family and unfortunately they have disappointed us to where we don't want to order from them again. My sister placed a custom order for my 40th birthday party, sending pictures of cookies that Memorial Bakery said they could do with no problem. A couple weeks later and the day before my party, we receive a box of botched cookies, not presentable for a milestone party. The icing was messy, not dried before packaging and what's more disappointing is that when my family wanted an explanation on why the product was so terrible, the store employees said it wasn't their specialty anymore and they've had complaints before, but somehow thought it was okay to continue promising customers they could do it. Memorial Bakery is not proud of their products if they thought these cookies were suitable for such a special occasion, especially for the price they try to...
