A friend took me here a few weeks back. It's a laid back n "local" kind of place. Go on weekend morning youll see the usual folks evereybody recognizes somebody n the staff knows everybody. Been here twice n now they know me too. The "motif ", or ambiance, is just as relaxed. Got a lil western, thing goin on, some un-common pictures, n some that show a deep respect for police n emergency service personell which is always good to see. N over by the end of the bar n the window where you can watch them prepare breakfast just the way you ordered, n cooked just the way you like, is a newspaper article proclaiming this is where you get "The Best Breakfast In The I. E.". At first i thoyght "I'll be the judge of that" . A bold article n a bold statement to be sure. I've eaten breakfast at dozens of places around the i.e. n i would have to say , they may be right. I have been to fancier places, n ive seen fancier setups n spiffy uniforms , in better locations but what i havent, or cant find, is a better breakfast. This place really is one of, if not "THE" best place to get breakfast any way you like. A wide ranging menu, cooked any way you want. Im telling you this lil casual corner country kitchen is the real deal. Comfortable, friendly, laid back, if yoyr anywhere in this valley or the next, n you believe a good breakfast starts a good day, then you need to come check this place out. See what you think of this place. I do know 1 thing. It maybe hard to explain this place, but its the best breakfast since your granma stopped cooking. Dont be shy, come down n you be the judge. Like me you too will be back. A definite "place to put on your...
Read moreThis location does not meet our expectations. Our food was not entirely as ordered. Came at different steps, which made some of it too hot some too cold. The biscuits and gravy were not exactly biscuits and very little gravy. We had to order extra gravy for the hash browns. No toast was offered. And the option for a pancake was not chosen which was regretted later. The spinach omelette stayed extremely hot for some reason internally. The biscuits and gravy got really cold very quick and they came at a later time. A soup and sandwich was ordered which was not brought to the table with the rest of the order. It was not toasted as requested. And the sandwich size was very small. By the time they toasted the bread the soup was a bit cold. The meal was not going to be enough so fries were ordered. They came to the table at the end of the everyone's meal so they were not consumed with anything else except by themselves to finish up. They were very busy which makes for a lot of mistakes and a very long wait time for the food to arrive. We also noticed that the other waitress was unwilling to take our ticket and charges so we had to wait for our waitress to get to us so we could pay. Overall I don't think we are coming back to this location. It is small, cramp, and last time it was very dirty. Today the floor was clean. My ticket for 2 was $25. I had water, soup and half a sandwich some fries the other was an omelette breakfast. The only thing that keeps us coming back is there excellent Ice-Tea. We will only now go to the San Jacinto location (near SJCC) service is so much better there. Waitresses regardless are friendly...
Read moreThis is a local hot-spot and it's busy. I'm not a local, but I can tell it's for locals based upon the behavior of the wait staff. This is good and bad. If you're known as a local, it's good: they will remember what you like to eat and write up the order as you enter and seat yourself. If you're not a local, like me, you will wait a little while because it's not only busy it's small and a bit crowded as well.
But, even if you're not a local, like me, they might still remember your order the second time around: the waitress who handled my first transaction with my son and I remembered both of our meals. This is good because it's a small and busy space.
As for the food, it isn't great but they do have an acceptably large selection and the quality of the food is nice even if it's a bit inconsistent. I've been there on three different occasions in the last two months and I order the same thing, a spinach and mushroom omelet. What I get from the kitchen has varied from visit to visit.
Nonetheless, to this untrained and unsophisticated palette they deserve a 4+ in service and a 4+ in food quality. They get a 3 for prices that are a bit higher than they should be. All in all, they're a solid 4 and will continue to receive my patronage for as long as the prices don't rise, the quality of the food doesn't suffer, and the service doesn't worsen.
One more thing ... this is Hemet and so one should be prepared to lower their expectations a tad. It's not Perris or Moreno Valley so you don't have to abandon all expectation for quality of service or products, but it is Hemet...
