On Saturday my mother and I arrived at the restaurant to get a special offered via email; a 3 for $10 meal featuring a 6 oz sirloin. There was a sign on the door indicating that due to lack of staffing the restaurant would not have dine in available but we could order curbside pickup. We decided to do that since this special only lasts a short time and we did not have plans on going on a different day. When we place the order we were told it would be about 20 minutes. So we went to a neighboring store to pick up one item and returned about 25 minutes later and our food was not ready. Five other cars came and went receiving their food and hours still was not ready. A staff member had already collected our money but we still did not have any food. 42 minutes later the food came. I asked what the problem was. I was told they were waiting for mashed potatoes to be made. I then asked if the steaks were still hot and I was told they would be okay because when they put them in the container they put a little seal on it so it would not open up. In other words they put it in the container and 40 minutes later put mashed potatoes in there and the steak was still supposed to be warm. When we got home needless to say the steak was cold and that is too bad because the flavoring on it would have been excellent had we been able to eat it fresh. We both anticipated a small problem and having to drive it home but my mother only lives about 8 minutes from the store so it should not have been that horrible. I knew that the food was not hot because I had the bag sitting on my lap and I could not feel any heat generating through the containers. Prior to the pandemic we probably ate in chilis at least once a week but during the pandemic we did have problems with their take out. In fact we quit getting take out from Chili's all together and we probably should have followed our own rule on Saturday. I know they were understaffed but if they cannot cook food appropriately they shouldn't...
Read moreAnother of my favorite places for a meal... This time we sat at the bar, very few people around, peaceful with great ambiance. Then you have the bartender.... whose husband is a server there (we had him as our server last time) you have got to love having either one of these 2 people as your server. They are a great team, they are hilarious & they make your visit worth every minute. Even if you have a bad meal, you still come back for the entertainment alone. These 2 deserve raises. Anyway, the food... we always start out with the chips and skillet queso which is typically fought over to the end... YES, it's that good, just try it. Add white queso on top & it's a dynamite combo. Then there's salad... no need for elaboration there, it's a salad. The first entree, Cajun Chicken Pasta... the chicken is tender, juicy & cooked well; on a bed of al dente penne pasta. The alfredo sauce is creamy, there's a hint of parmesan that comes through; chile spices are definitely present however for someone who enjoys spicy food, request added spice as the dish isn't a spicy one, it's simply a delicious one. The second dish ordered was Cilantro-Lime Carne Asada (with cajun spice on the side added to all before eating)... the steak was cooked beautifully, perfectly tender & pink in the center... so juicy. I caught a light hint of the cilantro and lime as I was stuffing my face full of loaded bites of steak topped with Pico & the pesto. Alongside the steak, Spanish rice and black beans were served. The Spanish rice was flavorful and cooked perfectly as were the beans, both were good individually but it's me... let's mix it up... Yes, it's fire, especially with the added cajun spices. I definitely cleaned my plate on this one! I've been to Chili's quite a few times, as a matter of fact, it was the first restaurant we visited after the "world reopened" post covid. I've NEVER had a bad dish at any...
Read moreThe waiter we had did not greet us, she came up with an attitude and asked if we knew what we wanted. I ignored it because the place was decently busy and I’ve never had any other problems with this location before. I was on a date with my boyfriend and she was very hospitable but only to him. She put the silverware on his side where I couldn’t reach and he had to hand it to me instead of putting it in the middle like a regular waiter. We had someone else deliver our appetizers while she sat in the bar serving nobody and just sitting there. She then gave my boyfriend five drinks total, two of which he didn’t even drink. At one point she brought out three drinks at a time for him (all the same soda) meanwhile I had to ask for the only refill I received. I did not get one of the side sauces that was supposed to come with my dish and when it was time to leave she asked if we wanted a box I said, “yes and some lids for my sauces please” and I received a box that she stood there and held waiting for me to grab even thought I was eating my dish (which made my hands greasy and I did not want to get it on her or the box) I also did not receive any lids for my sauces even tho I asked. After I grabbed the box she never came back so I did not get to ask for my lids. I have never had a server that has acted like this. I can understand being busy and I have never been genuinely upset with service providers at restaurants like this. My mother was a waiter for many years and I used to help her out so I understand the stress of it all but I really don’t think the way she acted was appropriate. Also two out of the three dishes we ordered were over cooked/ burnt hence the two...
