Fruits & Roots Smoothie and Juice Bar — Restaurant in Hempfield Township

This place is worth the trip - not just once, but on a regular basis.

I lived in NYC for 7 years and there is an açaí/smoothie place in every neighborhood.

Fruits & Roots is at or above the level of anywhere I had a açaí bowl in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Not just because of the quality, time, and care put into each bowl - but also because the young women that work there are pleasant and helpful, and even though they are very busy at lunchtime, always smile and say hello to every customer, and act like they want to be there.

It is a little off the beaten path on a sleepy road near the Westmoreland Mall - but if you want an amazing smoothie bowl there probably isn’t a better place for 50 miles.

5 Stars – Fresh, Delicious, and Consistently Fantastic!

I first discovered Fruits and Roots back in September 2022, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve tried the Açaí Bowl, Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Bowl, Mermaid Bowl, and Banana Bread Bowl, and every single one has been incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

It’s honestly tough to choose a favorite because everything I’ve had has been fantastic. That said, if you’ve seen my photos, you’ll know I have a soft spot for the Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Bowl, it’s probably my go to but, they are all amazing.

I don’t think there’s a single thing I dislike about this place. It’s clean and comfortable and always has some fun little decor pop. I know I can stop here and feel good about muffins or granola bars I grab for my humans because of the ingredients they use. I am borderline obsessed with their turmeric shots and beet juice and I’ve never had a smoothie I didn’t like. They carry a local coffee roaster (Cardinal Coffee) which I am also a huge fan, and today I was able to grab my favorite local honey.
