Crab ‘N Spice Restaurant: Henderson Location
What a terrible experience. After watching an expose of the restaurant on Fox 5 news' The More Show on January 17, 2024, my wife and I decided to have dinner at the Henderson location that same day. After all, from the expose, they offered a full menu of items and an All-You-Can-Eat option. This sounded great. All-You-Can-Eat (A.Y.C.E), shrimp, mussels, crawfish, chicken wings and, what was understood from the expose, lobster tail with one cluster of snow crab included. I assumed this meant that if you wanted to have additional snow crab or lobster tail, there would be an additional charge. Also included were unlimited sides which included green beans, sausage, corn, quail eggs, potatoes, and French fries.
Upon arrival, we were seated and provided menus. There were no attempts to provide additional instructions or rules at this time. We immediately noticed on the menu that the lobster was NOT included and would have an additional charge for the first tail. We were ok as I understood it was a high dollar item. That didn't sway us as I didn't really want lobster anyway. However, my wife did state to the waitress that from the description on the expose, that was not what we understood was the case. She apologized and stated that she was not aware of any expose or what they may have said on it and then went about her routine.
A brief time later, she returned, and we placed our order. A lemonade, 2 ice waters and two beers with an order of Haddock Fish 'n Chips with fries, and one All-You-Can-Eat option which included the shrimp, mussels, and the single cluster of snow crab legs with sides of corn, potatoes all in the CNS Lemon Garlic flavor. The waitress did mention, "you do know the rules" at which time we both in unison replied, "what rules", she then explained "that there was no sharing and that sort of thing". To which we both responded, "sure, that is fine, she is getting the fish 'n chips and I am getting the All-You-Can-Eat." A couple of minutes later the waitress returned with our water and beer.
After about 5 more minutes, may have been longer, I had consumed half my beer... the waitress returned to say, "my manager said that if you get the all-you-can-eat, everyone at the table has to order it". Immediately, I was irritated and asked the waitress, "even if she ordered something off your menu, I mean it is a full meal", the fish n' chips. She explained that those were the rules, and she was sorry. We asked to speak to the manager. The "manager" arrived at our table almost immediately, where we again pleaded our case that there were two orders of full menu items, the Fish n' chips and then the A.Y.C.E. The "manager" said that those were the rules and there was nothing she could do about it.
Naturally, disgusted, I asked for the check for our two beers and wanted to leave. The "manager" did say she was sorry and that they would not charge us for the beer.
WE LEFT!! and by the way, had a wonderful meal at another establishment!
No where is there anything that says that if one person at the table orders the A.Y.C.E that everyone must order it as well.
Beware and be informed if you...
Read moreThere are many seafood boil restaurants here in Vegas and many offer the watery sauce boils. The only criticism I would have about the sauce it does have a lot of oil. Originally I had nothing bad to say about this place what so ever until my recent visit.
When I arrived I was not greeted and it took a while for someone to even acknowledge me although they made eye contact with me. Finally I was seated and the personality of my waiter (I think he was my waiter) did not feel welcoming. He gave me I just want to finish my shift so I can go!
My drink order was taken by the same guy who seated me and shortly after offered to take my order. Undecided what I wanted I placed my order when he came back and asked if he could leave the menu because I will be ordering take out also but still had not received my drink. Eventually I placed my order and the food came out relatively quick which was a plus, at that time finally received my drink. However the same workers that did not acknowledge my arrival were the same ones kept coming up to me asking if I was ok. This is why I said I wasn't sure who my server was due to the fact that he or anyone else never came to ask me if I wanted a refill on my drink.
Close to completion of dining there, I requested a refill and placed my to go order and only received half of it. I wasn't charged for the missing item but did order it to have for the nex day and was very disappointed to find my full order was not taken.
Overall point is I have dined here several times and always received good service upon arrival but it seems to have declined compared o the previous serves they had before . I formally worked as a server and great service starts the minute the customer walks through the door not just when they sit down. YOUR TIP IS DETERMINED THE MINUTE THE CUSTOMER WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR not only when...
Read moreThe attitude and customer service of the management team is absolutely horrible here.
I made a reservation for nine people. The team member I spoke to went and got authorization from a manager to make me a reservation for nine people for a birthday dinner for a child
Thank God I called before my reservation and the manager told me they don’t take reservations that they don’t know why that person took the reservation, but they weren’t supposed to so I no longer had a reservation
When I politely wasn’t, I given a phone call when I left all my information. She replied oh I saw the note and I saw the reservation, but we don’t take reservations“ so obviously management has no clue of how management and customer service work. I get they don’t take reservations, but then why did they make one and why did the manager know about it and see it and then , tell me they had called me prior. I might not have gotten so upset but an hour before my reservation I was quite upset.
The manager was educated on their job and uneducated customer service make a reservation for someone no matter who did it or who made the mistake you have to honor
I would never give my money to a place like this, especially one that disappointed child on his birthday and they missed out on a huge bill from nine people. Sounds like they’re not very smart when it comes to marketing sales.
I recommend you try seafood, boil places, and not this one due to the fact that they have no clue what they’re doing, and they disappoint people, especially on their birthdays
I don’t if you can’t be kind to people and you can’t make up for other peoples mistakes you shouldn’t be in business in the customer service field.
I wonder what a lawyer would think after hearing this kind of...
