I wanted to venture towards this side of town (I live in the far Northwest part of Las Vegas) because it's been a few since I've tried a different restaurant in Henderson; not to mention, I had an urge to play at a different Station property compare to the one close to my house. Therefore, my wife and I decided to eat at this restaurant on 11 Nov 2023 because of the aforementioned, and because we wanted to celebrate our long tenure serving in the greatest military in the world.
I utilized the online reservation system on the same day of the reservation, and it was seamless (I even got the time I wanted). We arrived significantly earlier than our reservation time because we left the house anticipating traffic and such - we ended up not confronting any traffic. Needless to say, the restaurant accommodated us and allowed us to get seated within 8 minutes of arrival. We were seated in a booth, which was appreciated because of the back pain we have to deal with while sitting on regular chairs. I immediately noticed the décor in this restaurant and how rustic it looks (in a good way; not the "old, requires immediate updating" concept). The restaurant lighting and music made the experience very comfortable.
The menu items seem to be similar with all the Station property steakhouses, which made it easier for us to decide what we wanted to order. We ended up ordering the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, Grass-Fed Filet Mignon, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Green Beans Amandine, Mashed Yams, and Shishito Peppers. The fried chicken was a new concept for us because normally, I'm not a fan of ordering anything other than steak, at a steakhouse - but I'm glad we did! We ordered the steak and chicken because we were going to split it in half so we both can sample each entrée. The steak wasn't seasoned as what I've experienced at other steakhouses in the Las Vegas-Henderson-Summerlin area (definitely was under seasoned). I'm not saying the steak was awful by any means, but I expect a perfectly-seasoned steak at any 3 or 4 dollar sign steakhouses. The star performers of the night were definitely the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp and Shishito Peppers. Everything else we ordered was good, which made the night very pleasant.
The price-to-quantity/quality ratio was very reasonable and adequate. Of noteworthy significance, my Old Fashioned was made to perfection and the overall service (from the time we entered the restaurant, to when we departed), was outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant to all locals...
Read moreWorst experience ever, food made us ill & ruined our anniversary! From reading the reviews & watching a YouTube video (At The D Spot) about this restaurant, we were so excited about a fine dining experience. I called to make sure it’s a nonsmoking restaurant but we had no idea there’s a bar across the restaurant where smoking is permitted, with the restaurant doors wide open, the smoke entered the restaurant just enough to give me a headache as I’m sensitive to cigarette & cigar smoke. The restaurant is beautiful & the hostess Jillian was delightful. All the service people were friendly. The food was horrible, they should be ashamed of themselves charging $57 for a low quality steak smothered with MSG, my boyfriend’s heart rate rose to 108 after that meal, if MSG makes you ill, stay away from this place! I asked the server if the salmon was wild caught & he said yes but it looked & tasted farm raised & tasted fishy. I asked them to take the salmon away after one bite. Wish my boyfriend did the same with the steak but he was trying to make the best of the situation as he hates to send food back. The side of mushrooms were tough & not appetizing. The french onion soup was okay, but more like Panera Bread quality & not high end restaurant quality. The only thing that was decent was the chopped salad minus the bacon and the free bread & butter. We are locals & when we got home & realized that we were feeling ill from the meal, I called the restaurant to complain, spoke to Adrianna who said she’s one of the managers & she had me talk to Victor who asked if we wanted to return to file a complaint since they won’t be able to file it over the phone. I told him that we had a horrible experience & felt ill from the meal & now home trying to recover; therefore, didn’t want to return. Victor said that he’s unable to refund us for the horrible meal that made us ill unless we return to file a written complaint. So not only horrible food but terrible customer service. I usually don’t like to write negative reviews that may hurt a business unless I really feel justified. Shame on them for misrepresenting themselves as fine dining, charging fine dining prices but serving very low...
Read moreIt's been a good month or two, but it is still grinding at me. We chose Sonoma Cellar for a family dinner, my wife and I and her parents visiting from California. Everything was going fine until my steak was brought to me, along with everyone else's meal. After the bread and appetizers, I cut into my steak to reveal it was obscenely well done. I had asked for Medium, not medium well or medium rare, but medium which in most restaurants means a hot, pink center. There was no pink in this steak. Politely, and because of the price, I asked the middle aged female server to please replace the steak. Everything seemed fine, but then I waited...and waited...and waited. She asked if I wanted more of the side dish (NO I want the steak before I get full) So during this time, everyone else at the table finished their meals, that's how long it took. Their dishes were cleared, and then my steak arrived, imagine being the only one eating at a table, it was embarrassing and awkward. Needless to say, due to the elapsed time, I no longer had the appetite to eat, I took a 2 bites and was done, so I brought the steak home and my dogs had a very expensive feast. No one likes re-heated steak. After this, you would think a server (I would hope a professional, as this is a "high end" restaurant) could be of attentive mind to make some sort of concession due to the circumstances, but a half hearted "sorry" was all that was offered. Had I only been there with my wife, I would have prepared her for the storm, as I don't take sub-par meals and service lightly when paying nearly $100/plate, but I would not subject my in-laws to witnessing such fury. I would like the management to reach out to me with an appropriate way to contact, this experience...
