Taking my daughter and her friend to sleep away camp in Flat Rock, North Carolina, we stayed at a Ramada Inn blocks away from this particular Pizza Hut. Arriving late on a Saturday evening, the kids were hungry and needed something to eat. The desk clerk at the Ramada suggested Pizza Hut or Chinese for delivery. As we had Asian food for lunch in Columbia, South Carolina, we opted for Pizza Hut.
Two kids and an adult, we opted for the $10.00 dinner box which included a 1-topping pizza, 5 regular breadsticks and 10 cinnamon sticks. I called the order in and questioned the delivery time to the hotel and was advised 45 minutes to an hour. Since we were only 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Mall, I decided on pick-up and was told 15 minutes. My review did not gig Pizza Hut for my pick-up versus delivery decision.
Ordering was another story. The $10.00 dinner box was very simple. As for the pizza "topping" we decided on cheese. As in extra cheese - the cheese the pizza came with, and cheese as the 1-topping. After placing my order, I was told that it was $13.89. Questioning the total on the $10.00 dinner box, I was advised that cheese was $2 and change extra and that it did not count as an extra "topping." The additional due was sales tax. Deciding not to argue, I quickly switched the 1-topping to Pepperoni, which dropped my order to $11 something with sales tax.
Picked up the order and returned to the Ramada Inn. I should have checked the box before leaving Pizza Hut as the pizza and breadsticks were right - but we were missing half of the cinnamon sticks. As you can see from the photo, we only received 5 of the advertised sticks. I did not call the store back to inquire as I was hungry, tired from traveling all day, and had two kids to feed.
Pizza was cold and without taste, except for the greasy taste on the Pepperoni. Breadsticks were okay. Cinnamon sticks were the best part of the meal. Too bad I only received a half order.
Although I don't make it to the Hendersonville and Flat Rock area regularly, this Pizza Hut is not on my list of places to visit in the future.

Read moreVegetarians Beware of the Buffet: If I could give them a zero I would. I went here for the first time for the lunch buffet. I arrived at 11:30, 30 minutes after they opened, and pizza was not out for the buffet yet. When we asked, we were rudely told it would be out soon. When I requested that they be sure to put out a vegetarian pizza they rudely told me they do not take requests and whatever comes out is what will be put out.
I proceeded to eat from the salad bar while I waited for pizza. About 12 minutes later (opened for over 40 minutes) they started bringing out pizza. My niece went up to get pizza and found no spatulas for getting the pizza. When she asked about it, she was rudely told that they would be out soon; AFTER the rest of the pizza was put out.
So we continued to wait. Once the spatulas came out I had to ask if there was a Vegetarian pizza there and they did find one there (was hard for me to be sure and I don't eat meat). I grabbed 4 slices, sliced thin, and found the pizza unsatisfactory. All the toppings were toward the middle of the pizza and the dough there was about 1/16th of an inch thick and very soft. Toward the edges it was much better but there were hardly any toppings.
I did eat what I got, minus the two inches of crust, and went back to see if they had put out more Vegetarian. I could not find any. So I asked if any would be coming out any time soon and was told again that whatever comes out comes out. He just brought out what came out of the oven. I never saw any more Vegetarian pizza come out.
As I was leaving, the manager was near the door ans asked how everything went. I told him "not good at all and I won't be back". When I explained a little about the problem (left out the rudeness part) he proceeded to tell me that "Corporate" dictates which pizzas to cook for the Buffet. I just said "No Wonder Pizza Hut is Going Out of Business" and walked out the door. I used to love Pizza...
Read moreLet's discuss Trista, the "manager" and her lack of customer service skills. We placed an online order with an estimated delivery time of 6:25pm. While we don't expect immediate, prompt delivery -- as we have ordered in the past. However, 20 minutes after our expected delivery time, we placed a call to question the order and its location. While placed on hold (phone against the shoulder) by another female employee, we were informed the driver should be here anytime. We questioned their "shoulder conversation" which discussed the appropriate way to enter an online order. They assured us it was en route. 20 minutes AFTER this conversation, the pizza was delivered, luke warm, little to no cheese (we took pictures, and the delivery driver agreed the order was placed late. (Wouldn't this food still be hot if this were the case?) Anywho --- let's get back to Trista and her lack of social skills in general. A phone call was placed after delivery seeking the general managers contact information. After being informed by a timid sounding female that she "don't even know that number" the phone was passed to Trista. Trista informs us that she "can't give his cell phone number". We were able to find his name is David. (If she's telling the truth). We reiterated the information requested was the GM CONTACT information, not his cell phone in particular. In a very rude tone, Trista states "You'll find him here tomorrow and I don't know the story". Obviously you do, because you had no idea we were calling to report issues. Trista was fully aware of the previous conversations with the staff and herself. When we went onto describe the situation, Trista states "Well, if you're going to be rude about it, I won't give you his information" and slammed the phone down. Trista HUNG UP ON US while we were telling her our issues with their service. Follow up is soon to come. Update...
