Met a friend of mine here for lunch, and the food was fine, and the service was good up until a certain point We each get our bills, he paid with a card and I paid cash.
My meal was $20 and some change, I left $27. I laid it right on the table in front of our waitress who ignored it, so when we went to leave I placed an Empty Glass over the corner of it.
We got to the first set of exit doors doors, and I was holding the door open for a line of people when my waitress whose name was Naya, (I probably spelled it wrong), and the older blonde manager come running up to me telling me I need to come back and pay.
The manager goes past me to the exterior set of doors kind of blocking them off. I told them that I did pay, and I placed the money right there on the table in front of the waitress at the time. So the waitress walks me back to the table, and guess what? There's the money sitting right there, exactly where I said it was. Tip and all, I was even polite and gave a $7 tip on a $20 bill.
Naya grabs the money, says okay thanks, and then walks away. I'm both bewildered and embarrassed, because now people are thinking I'm trying to leave without paying, because they were not quiet about announcing it when they chased me out the door.
As I go to leave, the older blonde lady is still standing at the exit doors, and I told her I didn't appreciate being called out like that, especially since I did pay which has since been confirmed.
She gave me a pathetically fake smile, and told me that no one said that.
So from this point, I can safely say that she is a liar as they did blatantly say "we need your payment because you didn't pay"
I'm sure they have issues with people not paying, but I feel they need to actually confirm that before they decide to falsely accuse someone. And then at best, offer the falsely accused person a very fake and pathetic smile. Didn't even get a legitimate "sorry"
At this point I wish I had gone back and taken the tip out of the money that I left. I'm literally leaving this review as I'm sitting in the parking lot still, I am just so mad about this.
Rest assured, I will never visit another Texas Roadhouse at any location again.
And I'm going to leave this on the Better Business...
Read moreI'm so glad we took a 30min rideshare from our hotel downtown to come here. They don't accept reservations btw, although they do have a wait-list. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately and we're told it was a 2 hour wait for our party of 2. Hubby asked about seating at the bar and the hostess noticed that a bunch of people had just left so we were in luck. Mikayla was out waitress/bartender. She was very welcoming when we told her we were visiting from Canada and we're beyond excited for our first Texas Roadhouse experience. I started off with a drop coffee (she had to go make a new pot but she was so kind about it!!) and hubby got an original margarita. We ordered their Cactus Blossom for apps to share and we each ordered their Texas sized Combo- half rack of ribs & 6oz sirloin, made rare and smoothered in sauteed mushrooms & onions with sides of loaded baked potato, buttered corn & Mac & cheese. Let me tell you, the steak was RARE & oh so juicy, tender and flavourful. Their Mac had the most incredible umami, cheesy flavor. The ribs were smokey, tender and fall off the bone. Oh and we can't forget their famous bread & cinnamon butter. As an unexpected bonus, a group of 4 sat by us at the bar and struck up conversations with us. The restaurant itself was very homey with happy vibes. It was a true Nashville experience for us ( we're not bar people so going a little out of downtown and getting to mingle with the locals was so nice!). The staff their are all so kind, they looked like they truly enjoy their job. Another shout out to our most wonderful waitress Mikayla though. Her bubbly & kind personality is unmatched and she truly went out of her way to make it an incredible experience for us. We even got to watch their...
Read moreWe normally never have a bad experience and we go fairly frequently. This time however was far less than stellar. Lots of blame placed other places, no apologies for multiple (small, simple) mistakes just "thanks for understanding" - while we were never mad or even mean we truly didn't understand. The manager herself was at the table when I found contaminated food, replaced it, unfortunately with more contaminated food (this is a huge concern for those with food allergies). Milk was spoiled but she said the date was still good but it was definitely rotten. I was missing food. It wasn't till after we paid and I stopped the manager again on my way out that she offered up a discount on a future purchase.
It wasn't that I wanted one or felt entitled to one it was the fact that no real apology was ever made and we truly felt that she didn't believe us when we told her the milk was spoiled. My daughter said it tasted bad, my mom thought she was being dramatic and took a sip. It was thick. It was sour. I smelled it and wanted to vomit knowing what my daughter just drank. I figured at very least they would have offered to comp her 4.99 kids meal over it in which we would have declined but would have appreciated the offer. When I asked about it when we left she just kept telling us the dates were still good - but a good date doesn't ensure it hadn't gone bad from sitting out to long. I also spoke about the food contamination with her again because while it was a non issue for me others may not be as lucky if they had an allergic anaphylaxis reaction to the contamination. It was then she offered up a coupon for the next visit. She was otherwise very pleasant and so was the other staff we...
