I ordered pick up after following a thread on Facebook about the best New York style pizza in the Nashville area. NY Pie was mentioned a couple times and I was running errands in Hendersonville so I decided to call it in. I ordered an 18-in cheese pizza and added mushrooms. There is an option when you check out to add garlic at no charge so I opted for that. I picked up the pizza and immediately had a slice in my car. At first notice the dough is pretty tough and not soft and chewy in the NY sense that you can fold it over easily. Second, I could not taste any garlic whatsoever. Whether the garlic is a powder or added into the sauce, or baked on top I could not find any visual representation of garlic and couldn't taste any either. The pizza sauce is fine, a little on the sweet side. The pizza itself can definitely use more cheese and also more sauce. I found it to be a little scant on both although the good grease was there but only on top of the pizza, not soaked through the dough enough to where it makes your paper plate or to go box nice and slightly greasy - there was just not enough cheese to make that top layer gooey enough either. Definitely little on the dry side to be called NY Pie. I was really hoping for something satisfying and I'm left...

The pizza was pretty good, garlic knots were ok, but not worth the price point or the atmosphere. People had to stand around waiting for a seat to open in various places throughout the restaurant…just hoping their food wasn’t ready before someone got up to provide a seat to actually eat. The set up is all wrong. There is no waiting area in the front so people actually stood and waited beside tables where others were trying to enjoy their meal. It was chaotic and when asking for a table to be cleaned off (someone finally finished and we saw an open seat) it was rushed, we had to stand in the aisle and wait, and the table was barely cleaned. We had to finish cleaning the table off ourself. It would have been better if we ordered carry out from Dominos and ate in our car. Parking was also not ideal, only one bathroom stall, and the price point is too high for what you get. I would only stop in IF it’s an off time. Maybe you will get friendlier service and be able to eat your pizza in a more peaceful laid back atmosphere. Don’t go out of your...

Omg......I'm originally from the Chicago area. We are ad serious as New York.about pizza. And it is common knowledge that the best pizza is in either of those places. Domino's is good pizza. Pizza hut is as well,. But when I say good, that's just exactly what I mean. Good. Not Great or excellent. You get great or excellent pizza in almost any mom and pop Chicago area pizza place. Am sure New York is similar. In Nashville area I have only found ONE GOOD.....no take that back.....ONE PLACE SELLING EXCELLENT PIZZA. NY PIE. This is the second one I have eaten at, and both are EXCELLENT. Only one problem exists........if you haven't been to Chicago.....or New York, chances are high that you have never had top notch pizza. You can somewhat remedy that by going to NY PIE. It is not "CHICAGO," pizza.......but it is NY pizza, and It is EXCELLENT. THE TWO NY PIE stores that I have been to, were clean, served hot food, and the people were super. If you want R E A L pizza.....try NY PIE. You will...

I'm not going to pretend to be some connesiuer of pizzas, nor am I gonna tell you I'm a transplant from anywhere near NY. It was my first time in today, and I thought the pizza didn't immediately look great. I was so wrong. This pizza is unlike any other pies I've had, West or East coasts. The dough is thin and chewy, the sauce is perfectly tomato-y and great with the crust. The garlic knots are awesome- they dont make you gag with too much garlic or oil or butter, and they are beautifully fluffy. I had to stop- I shared a 6 piece and didn't think I would enjoy them, but I wanted to finish the pan myself! I'm partial to white sauce pizzas, and NY Pie's White slice is so freaking good that I'm going to grab a whole pie of it next time. If you haven't tried this place- dont trust yourself until you bite into the slice. Oh, and the folding really DOES help! I thought it was a joke! I'm unashamed to be going home with extra slices. This place is fantastic.

We tried NY Pie for the first time today. It was very good. They have a variety of pizzas to choose from on their generous menu and a really y good thing also, they have pizza by the slice if you want to just go easy. My five year old just barely finished his one large slice of cheese pizza. They crust was excellent. The flavors were very good. Some times pizza joints miss the mark on the sauce and dough combination, but not these guys. And at NY Pie you can actually watch the guys make the pizzas. G made ours. That's what he goes by. They flip the dough up in the air and twirl it around like we uses to back in the day when we made pizzas at our place. They also have a bar sitting area right in front of the pizza making area so you can sit and eat while you watch them make pies. We had a great time and will be going back to try the Greek pizza, yum. And if you like you can also enjoy a cold beer here with your meal. Give them a try for a good time.
