Maru Lyagi, located in Hendersonville, TN, offers a delightful sushi dining experience. Despite visiting for a late lunch, just before the 2:30 pm closing time, the restaurant maintained its quality and service. We indulged in two appetizers, both of which were excellent, setting the tone for the meal. For the main course, we savored three specialty rolls, each bursting with flavor and freshness. In my experience, Maru Lyagi stands out as one of the premier sushi spots in the area. While the service was efficient, it's worth noting that we were the only patrons present, likely due to the impending closure. Nevertheless, our food arrived promptly, allowing us to enjoy every bite in comfort. The comfortable seating, cleanliness, and appealing ambiance added to the overall dining pleasure. Maru Lyagi's location further contributes to its allure, making it a convenient and inviting choice for sushi enthusiasts. In summary, Maru Lyagi impresses with its delectable cuisine, satisfactory service, and inviting atmosphere. Whether for a casual lunch or a dinner outing, I highly recommend Maru Lyagi for an exceptional sushi experience in Hendersonville, TN.

I want to start this with wow. Tennessee has gotten significantly nicer. We have sushi in small towns like Hendersonville man. I'm here for the progress. It is nice especially since I was a child. However, this is by far one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to in a while. It's hard to find sushi in Tennessee. I've traveled a lot and had great food. Trust me, Hendersonville this is luxury. However the experience was really worth the time and effort. The tastes don't stop once your experience starts. It did take about 10 minutes to be sat and orders taken, but that was the only slight issue. Our waiter was very wonderful and helpful. She answered all of my questions and kept me and my wife up to par. She refilled my hot tea several times and made sure our food tasted good. I had the Gyoza, Seaweed Salad & Golden Bridge. Given the price, I could comfortably leave a big tip, be full & fulfilled and still go for seconds. Those 3 items held me over for hours after I left. This was not my first time and it definitely will not be my last visit.

The sushi was pretty okay but the rest of the food was odd. It was peculiar how the bulgogi came on a plate with an icecream scoop of white rice (it did also come with miso and a salad, but not all entrées come with both- some come with only a salad or only miso or nothing at all but none is clarified on the menu). There were a lot of extra charges as well and the food itself is overpriced. For example, a friend of mine at the same table ordered bibimbap and was charged an extra $3 for the stone bowl the dish traditionally comes in. There are also extra charges for sauces which I've not encountered before elsewhere. Overall experience was mediocre and will not be returning in the future. The waitress was very nice, but the overall atmosphere was lacking. Also, my bowl was melted.

Very disappointed with my one, and only, visit to Maru Iyagi. Wife, myself, and two year old came in on a Tuesday night. We were one of two tables at 715pm. The waitstaff was quick with drinks, and a treat to calm the upset 2 year old. Our server was great and attentive the whole time.

The issue was two of the rolls were ordered without ingredients, nonstructual or important parts of the roll. Roe being the main offender for my bland and boring palate. No problem with the server at asking for it to be left off.

It came to the table with roe on it, so I said something. She apologized and said she rang it in with no roe, and she took the plate and said she would get them to remake. 3 minutes later she returned with my plate, no roe to be seen. Pop the first one in my mouth and that all too familiar pop of fish eggs in my mouth.

The roll had a mix of tuna in a sweet chili sauce on top. All they had done was pull that with roe off, mixed it all together so you couldn't see it, and sent it back out. Upon further disection, the orange little pearls of grossness were stuck all over the roll, under the topping.

If this had been an allergen issue, they could cause major problems for a customer all because they didn't want to remake a roll, probably to preserve food costs. Luckily it was just a picky customer, right?

My 81 dollar visit (no discount for problem), 25% tip, and frequent flyer miles to many other sushi places would have far outweighed the loss of one roll. Maybe thats why we were one...

Getting a seat was no problem, getting service on the other hand was a headache. We were seated and it took the waitress 30 minutes to come take our order. Afterwards it took another hour and ten minutes to even get our food. Not once did the waitress come ask if we needed anything or give us an update on our food. Two other parties were sat down after us and also waited just as long if not longer because they still hadn't gotten their food. The waitress had been back and forth to the kitchen multiple times appearing busy but never produced any food. When the food finally arrived it was cold. It had obviously been sitting back there waiting to be delivered to us and the waitress didn't bother to get our order. Not to mention when she brought our food she brought our entree's and not our appetizers. So we told her was also ordered appetizers and she said ok I'll go check. 1 minute later she arrives with our appetizers....also COLD. We asked why it took so long for the food to come out to the table because it was clearly cold, she had no explanation but offered 50% off the order. Seriously????!! We left....
