Ricky's Chocolate Box — Restaurant in Hermann

Went today while we were in town to go to Adam Puchta. Stores are always closed when we go through, but not today! Employees were not really friendly and I had to ask where I needed to order as nobody greeted us, nor looked up. We got a wide variety of items. Be warned, nothing has a price on it, so be prepared 🙂 Taffy was tasty, caramels were good, black and white chocolate chip cookie was good, as it should be for $6.50!, chocolate peanut butter covered pretzel was really good, but the carrot cake truffle I had to spit out. Now this is probably just my taste preference and others will probably love it, but it had an abundance of spices in it and the nutmeg and cloves was too much. Cute store and the chocolate is great. We ended up with $30 worth of treats. I don’t frequent chocolate shops so I’m not really a good judge if it’s priced high or average. But go give it a try as the selection is pretty extensive!!! I was absolutely overwhelmed by all the tasty looking options. But I have to say that’s after eating the pieces I got, I was underwhelmed.

Immediately in your right after entering is a shelf of about 15 different flavors of fudge with sample jars in front. They sell the fudge is small pieces which I think is super awesome because I never want an entire half or whole pound of fudge. So I began sampling and none of them really did it for me...as far as fudge goes, this was less sweet than I’m used to.

I also wasn’t too crazy about the carrot cake truffle or the couple pieces I had that contained caramel. The caramel stuck to my teeth quite a bit more than I would’ve liked.

However, I will say the chocolate dipped Oreo and the espresso truffle were pretty darn good! As always, it just depends on...

A very cute shop with a nice variety of treats. Their chocolate covered nuts are delicious! The dark & milk chocolate are wonderful. (I didn't try the white but I bet it's good too) The reason for the lower rating is due to the truffles. I adore truffles and get them any time I can. These are hands down the worst I've ever had. I didn't even finish it, I threw it away!! I never throw away truffles. I was with 3 other people who also got truffles and did the same. We all enjoyed the other things we bought so just stay away from their truffles and you will be happy. I can highly recommend the dark chocolate covered macadamia...
