Disappointing. Let’s break down the 3 stars (more like 2.5 stars). The branding is fun, 4 stars. The food itself isn’t good, 2 stars. And the prices are really out of whack, 2 stars. If I’m spending $11 on one taco (call it big if you want), I should get much higher quality ingredients. My wife’s comment was that the meat “all tasted like ground beef” and she wasn’t wrong.
I have no problem paying $11 for a taco, but they are made by someone like Enrique Olvera and if you go to Mexico City, NYC, or LA, do yourself a favor and eat at one of his establishments. The quality of the taco would be outstanding. For $11, I can also get 3-4 tacos at Don Joaquin all across the Wasatch Front or Street Tacos Tarricaso (the best street tacos in Utah but clear down in Payson) where they have perfected the fried queso taco. But the quality of ingredients at these other locations is superior and they offer excellent salsa bar options.
Finally, I understand why they need to use a flour tortilla…because of the size of the taco. I got a corn tortillas substitute that was also large but tasted more like a rice wrap than a corn tortilla. Not sure what is going on there. The street taco corn tortillas are fine. I will give kudos for the Coke products and for 3 tasty sauces.
To summarize: I had great hopes of falling in love with a local establishment close to home and in a place (Highland) that desperately needs restaurants but can’t get them because of local city ordinances preventing businesses from operating on Sunday. Unfortunately this Jurassic Tacos (and its other chain sisters) fall well short of...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Jurassic Tacos, and I must say it was an experience beyond my wildest expectations! These "dino-mite" tacos truly deserve five stars.
From the moment I walked in, the ambiance took me on a journey back in time to the era of the dinosaurs. The decor was creatively themed, and it set the perfect stage for the culinary adventure ahead.
The menu offered a delightful variety of taco options, each with a unique and delicious twist. The flavors were out of this world, and I couldn't get enough of their mouthwatering creations. The T-Rex Tacos were a carnivore's dream, and the Veggie Velociraptors catered perfectly to the herbivores among us.
The service was exceptional, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff that was eager to help us explore the menu and make recommendations.
In the world of tacos, Jurassic Tacos truly stands out as a prehistoric culinary delight. If you want to embark on a flavor journey that's out of this world, I highly recommend visiting Jurassic Tacos. I can't wait to return and savor more of their unique and delicious creations. Roar-some job,...
Read morePricey and tasted horrible! We made a take-out order and took it home.. The meat (Al pastor) was extremely burnt or reheated way too many times (see pics), that is not how fresh Al Pastor should look, not even close. Then they try to re-hydrate it with a ton of pineapple juice..? Not sure, but it was horrible. The first time we ate hear the food was ok, so we decided to try it again etc. Second time was a mistake! After spending $55+ very disappointed this time. Bummer! We were excited that a different Taco Shop was new to the area! Because we love Mexican food and Tacos! I guess we have to wait a while and see if they get the issues/everything ironed out.. We never leave reviews, but we could not believe how bad the meat was, so we had...
