This is now my favorite place in all of Oregon! I moved here 3 years ago and have tried so many restaurants, from Beaverton to Portland to Salem and all places in between, in search of delicious food. I have been disappointed time and time again, but this place exceeded all expectations. We ordered an acai bowl, wonton soup, spicy wings, a Vietnamese coffee, and pad Thai. They all were bursting with flavor and enjoyed by my whole table, although everyone's favorite were the wings. Throughout the whole meal, I kept telling my boyfriend we have to come back to try the rest of the menu! We ordered all the eclectic things, our curiosity piqued at what an acai bowl and pad Thai tasted like at a Vietnamese restaurant. Most restaurants that have options that stray from its ethnic focus tend not to pinpoint the foreign flavors well, but it was surprisingly delicious if not accurate. So next time I will try actual Vietnamese dishes, willing to bet they are even better, if that is possible. I am so happy to have found this place. The wonderful food would have already made me a loyal customer for life, but to top it off, their space is very welcoming and clean; a cute and homely environment and the staff is so kind and attentive. An all around great experience, I hope their business thrives and will be recommending this place to...
Read moreI got the yellow curry with shrimp and house wings as an appetizer. The shrimp in the curry was overcooked to point where they squeaked against my teeth as I chewed. The onion were also a little underdone for my liking, however I recognize that's more of personal preference situation. Everything else about the dish was fine. Might be best to choose a different protein option, though.
The wings, which were supposed to be an appetizer, weren't served to me until after I was already finished with my entree. From what I heard, it seemed like the staff was having some difficulties and were running a little behind.
On the upside, the wings were so fresh that I actually burnt my fingertips by trying to pick them up with my hands. Before today, I I've never had wings so fresh out of the fryer that I had to eat them with a fork to avoid burning myself further. They were super crispy, flavorful, and had a mild amount of heat. I highly recommend getting them if you come in.
The service was great as well, no complaints on that front. The woman at the register broke a $100 bill for me quickly and with no complaints.
While my visit this time was a 3/5 experience, I can see how the restaurant could be a 5/5 experience if you came in on the right day and ordered the...
Read moreHonestly, the food was good! We ordered the orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, wontons and shrimp tempura. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the flavors of the sauces were balanced. The wontons were just okay, average nothing superb. And the tempura was a bit soggy and bland- but the chili sauce makes up for it. My problem with this place however, was the staff and how poorly they communicated the wait time on the food. I was told 20mins over the phone on a Sunday evening around 5:30pm. Upon arrival 25 minutes later I was told that the kitchen was backed up and that it wasn’t ready yet. At this point I sat down and had to wait another 45 minutes before receiving ANY acknowledgement from the staff. Someone came out to apologize for the wait, offering a free fountain drink for the inconvenience, but then making me wait another 10 before I actually saw my food. To further my frustration at this point, I was listening to the woman on the phone telling everyone the wait time was 20minutes for pickup, but then telling them to sit down and wait longer when they arrived to pick it up. We were all miserable waiting over an hour for our food, so it definitely took away from the pizzazz...
