IHOP — Restaurant in Hillsboro

IHOP really isn't my cup of tea, but my kids love the place! 😊 And I have to admit it was actually a very pleasant experience.

Admittedly this place is very clean. Tables weren't sticky and even the restrooms are very clean as well.

Service from our waitress was exceptional.

My son simply adores the pancakes with the chicken fingers and it's his favorite thing to have their and he said it was absolutely amazing.

In hindsight I really should have got a burger here because the Burger King down the street is an absolute no-go zone.

I REPEAT, DO NOT GO TO THE BURGER KING DOWN THE STREET!!

Had I known the experience that was waiting for me there, I would have gladly ordered a burger here at IHOP.

Kudos for the kitchen staff because even the flatware was spotless.

There is good cell phone reception here for your wireless modems, they do offer Wi-Fi and it's quite fast and it's easy to login.

Zoom meetings FaceTime and any other kind of electronic communications you have to do with work are acceptable in this location and I had no problems myself.

UNLIKE A CERTAIN BURGER KING DOWN THE STREET WHICH I HONESTLY THINK THERE ARE PROBABLY HIDING NUCLEAR WEAPONS OR SOMETHING BECAUSE THAT'S THE KIND OF SECURITY THEY HAVE IN THERE!! 😁

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ESPECIALLY DURING DINNER AND LUNCH TIME!

The dining room had about eight different tables and again we had no problem getting top-tier service.

If you need something quick to eat or a quick bite I can absolutely confirm to you that it's faster than THE BURGER KING DOWN THE STREET WHICH YOU SHOULD NOT GO TO UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES 😆

I had to make a phone call, and nobody asked to see my phone, or ask my identity, I'll wait to verify my presence to some third party before I could leave, or my order. 😁

So I can absolutely say it's a very relaxed atmosphere and you should have no problems here.

They also speak English here so if that's a particular concern for you, and you have none to worry about if you have dietary restrictions or like your pancakes in a particular way.

Bench seating can be a problem but I can tell you that they are perfect at this location and I had no comfort issues whatsoever.

A particular pet peeve of mine is lightning, and I can tell you that it's a warm color temperature and it's perfectly done.

The dining room is spacious and it's easy to get around for those in wheelchairs as well if that's a particular concern.

If your kids love pancakes and they love typical American style food, IHOP simply is the place to go.

Food was alright but the service was beyond terrible.

Started off ok since we were seated quickly. Waited for about 10 minutes for someone to come take our order. The manager started cleaning the table in front of us and asked if we'd been helped. Told her we weren't and she went to get someone to take our order. Waited another 2 minutes and the waiter came out with food that was for another table. Waited another 2 minutes and finally the waiter came to take our orders. He repeated everything correctly so we thought things would be better but they didn't.

We waited another 5 to 10 minutes for our drinks and about 15 minutes for our food. They got most of it right but forgot one of the appetizers we ordered and took forever to bring out a small order of fries. I don't think it was the kitchen's fault either. We told them we were waiting for the second appetizer and they said they thought we just wanted the dipping sauce. We canceled the appetizer order.

We then noticed two of the waitresses were talking in a whisper and kept looking at our table. It was obvious enough that they were talking about us and a person in our group felt uncomfortable. The manager then started clearing our table and it took them about 5 minutes to bring the check. We then went to pay and it took them forever to take my payment and it took even longer for them to go charge me. Needless to say, i will never...

I was so unhappy with the food here today. I ordered one of the new burgers called jalapeno kick burger. It was supposed to have pepper jack cheese, sauteed onions and peppers, bacon, tomatoes on a grilled bun. I had one of these last week at another IHOP in town and it was excellent. However, at this location, they brought it out with no bacon ( which I didn't realize til after I left) and swiss cheese instead of pepper jack. When I told my waitress, she first tried to convince me it wasn't supposed to have pepper jack cheese, just pepper mayo. ??? That wasn't even in the description on the menu. I finally showed it to her on the menu and she grudgingly took it back to be redone. Then, she brought out another one with swiss on it and the bun wasn't grilled. When I pointed out the problem again the manager came over and argued that the swiss WAS pepper jack. I had to point out there was no little peppers in the cheese. Then they just slapped ( finally) a piece of pepper jack on it cold. By this time I'm starving and the bun was soggy and it still didn't taste right (no bacon). Not only did they argue with me the whole time, but didn't even offer to reduce my bill when I answered their question about everything being alright with a " not really" reply.
