I could have easily gone with 2 stars, but based off some other factors we will go with a 3 or I wish a 3.5 - Recently ordered some sandwiches over the phone, then picked up and brought back to the beach. My wife had a ham & cheese with extra cheese and I went for the Jaws. My wife also saw fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and grabbed a couple!

When we got to the beach my wife’s sandwich was wrong 😑. It was still tasty and the meat was good, but the bread is thick so the bread to meat/cheese ratio wasn’t great. Unfortunately, the “dijon” was the absolute most pungent/spicy mustard I have ever tasted. It was like straight wasabi flavor and was so overwhelming that you could not taste anything else. Another person in our party also got the same sandwich and they had the same problem. And there was so much of it that we both agreed the sandwich was inedible. We scraped off as much as possible and didn’t eat the bread. It was still potent. It was Fire đŸ”„ , but not in a good way

The chocolate chip cookies were top tier! So good that later in the week we ate at Gringos next door and went back to Stu’s for some cookies!

Again, if I were to base it off my sub alone I would probably give it a 2. Stu, PLEASE put a warning or note on that sandwich that it is NOT a honey dijon or even a normal mild dijon like Grey Poupon, you are using Satan’s Dijon from the surface of the sun!

To those about to dine, you have...

Mixed reviews for this small local sub shop. First thing we noticed, there were only about 4 tables inside for seating, and those were pretty much occupied for people waiting for their orders. There were several outdoor seating tables though. Speaking of waiting, expect to wait about 20 minutes for your order - they don’t work very fast here, but they were also fairly busy, even at 3 pm. Another piece to note is the customer service - others noted it too, but there was definitely a lack of professionalism and maturity with the 2-3 staff working. One girl was vaping the whole time inside, right next to where the subs were being prepared. The guy was chatting away with 2 girls (one of which was also vaping) hanging out at the counter. At one point, one of these girls were teasing the guy and threw a small pitcher of water at him while the other staff laughed. Another female staff was also throwing dirty rags at the guy. Another time, a female customer walked in and asked something. She then stormed out without ordering anything, while the staff laughed at her after she left.

The subs themselves were delicious, with fresh meats and soft bread. It needed a bit more dressing/sauce, but overall, it was definitely good. Was the sub worth the headache of dealing with poor customer service? Probably not, but if you’re really wanting the sub, just plan to call ahead or order and...

This was my first time here. We walked in and up to the counter to place our order. There was a young woman and man standing behind the counter talking. It was as if we weren’t even there. Nobody greeted us or acknowledged that we were standing there. After a while, the woman walked past us to go outside and said “one minute.” The whole entire time we were in there she was not wearing a mask. She coughed multiple times, was eating, and talking on the phone. Someone asked where her mask was and she brushed it off. If I could rate the customer service as a zero, I would. Next, the food. The man, who’s mask was below his nose, said our food would be ready in 5 minutes (I don’t expect my food to be ready in 5 minutes, just a timely manner). 30 minutes later we were still waiting for two subs. After receiving our food, we left to go war in our car. One of the subs had a long, dark hair in it. We threw the subs out, so I can’t speak to the taste of the food, however it was overall a horrible experience. As a customer, I expect to be acknowledged and I also expect that during a pandemic, that ESPECIALLY places offering food follow the guidelines set forth by Hilton Head Island. Total waste of money and time. I have pictures of employees with no masks on, however I’m not sure how to upload them to...

I can honestly say I triple dipped at this place of course about a week and I wasn't the only one that loved it. My wife and myself were very amazed about the food down here typically we're from the north and it's very hard to find a place like this that actually goes out their way and has decent food. I know that sounds very lackluster. I am called the angry food critic on here, and I am very particular because I used to do this all the time but because due to lack of restaurants down here and decency and food it's very hard to find decent food, but this is coming from someone like I said from the North that actually likes Sandwiches and would be someone that would typically visit a deli and when I say this is decent, I mean decent. The ambience is very nice. The staff is very nice. The people are very nice that run this location and I really appreciate the fact that they care about their customers. Everything is homemade and you don't get that bread that's made out of Styrofoam that they just pop out of a bag and then throw it at you and tell you that they put it in the oven or whatever these people actually go out of their way and make the bread it makes a difference!

We stumbled upon this place with 2 screaming toddlers, ready to eat. We walked in 5 min before close and they didn’t seem to mind. I grew up in San Diego and was hoping it was going to be similar to the subs I had along the beach. BAM! It was amazing. We ordered 4 different menu items and they were all top notch. They did not skimp on the guacamole and the sprouts were fresh. They noticed my wife ordered the veggie sub and brought out a new veggie soup for her to try before it hit the menu the next day. SO GOOD. They didn’t mind the screaming kids and the food came out quickly. I would definitely recommend Stu’s time and time again.

Started our vacation here, based on a friends recommendation. It was spot on and we will be back later in the week! Cute place is a busy shopping area but worth the hunt. Jess had #9 which was a HUGE roast beef sand which. A lot (and I mean a lot) of meat and she couldn’t finish half. I ate some too. It was delicious. I had #29, the hot sausage with pepper and onion. Delicious and made fresh. Abs the bread? Omg you have to try. It’s house made and by someone who knows how for all their sandwich’s. Splurge and get the full size, so you’ll have the other half the next day. Friendly service and busy but fun vibe.
