Extremely disappointed in this establishment. I placed an online order with Artichoke this morning for a margarita pie to be delivered to my office at noon. At 11:21am, I received a confirmation email from Artichoke advising that my order had been accepted, with delivery set for approximately noon. Noon came and went. I was given a link to a Postmates site to track my order's delivery from Hoboken, which did not show any movement when I checked right after 12PM. At 12:19PM, the tracker indicated my order had been cancelled. I received no explanation, nor any subsequent communication from Artichoke. Repeated calls to Artichoke went unanswered. You have plenty of other pizza options in the area that respect their customers enough to actually deliver what they promise - go there instead.
UPDATE: Artichoke did respond last night (see below), advising that they were actually closed at the time the order was placed, had been temporarily closed for several days, and that they would "try to do a better job going forward." Here's the problem - their website currently reflects that they open every day at 11am; there's no indication on there or on any other online resource I could find that they open at 5pm, nor that they were temporarily closed. They also have a verified Instagram account. There's just no excuse in this day and age not to spend what literally amounts to a few minutes updating the website or Instagram with a quick post confirming their temporary closure and/or adjusted hours. I have to think especially in 2021 that a big chunk of their clientele is relying on delivery - you owe it to your potential customers to give them reliable and accurate information. If you don't, what's the point in even having a website or social media account?
Additionally, what's the explanation for not updating the ordering system when closed? A lot of time and money could have been saved on my part if my online order had simply been rejected at the time of submission on the basis that Artichoke was closed at the time same was placed. I could have immediately moved on to a different pizza place. Instead, I received an email confirming not only that my order had been accepted, but that it was being prepared!
Lastly, I've now been charged over $40 for a pizza order that I didn't actually end up getting. So to add insult to injury, now I have to spend more of my time disputing and rectifying this with the credit card company. This is just not...

Crab Slice (2.5/5) The crabby layer added a hint of sweetness but had this imitation crab meat taste, which I personally did not love, nor hate. This mild disappointment added to the severe disappointment of the extremely salty creamy layer. This slice was pretty meh and the only part I liked but again is questionable - is the greasy, crispy crust. Not sure if it needed to be that greasy given the rich (nice way of saying a bit much) creamy layer that this pizza had.
Artichoke Slice (2.5/5) Also salty. In fact the saltiest of them all. That aside, it had redeeming qualities. The cream on top was a bit much, and a bit of too much salt in that just leaves you with a bad taste. Maybe a drizzle of balsamic to add acidity and tang to the rich, salty creamy layer could take this slice a long way. Or maybe figs or raisins or something else to jazz it up. I only enjoyed the crispy crust on this one.
Sicilian Square (3.5/5) The dough itself felt dry or rather dense. Not the airy, focaccia-y base you'd go in expecting. The tomato sauce and cheese combined were on the saltier side which added to the overwhelmingly salty experience from all the other items ordered. Less salty than the other two but still noticeably salty. Almost wished the tomato sauce was tangy enough to cut the salt taste in my mouth.
I have heard otherwise about this place from a few friends, so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt of it being a one-off bad day. Still not sure if I will order...
