Dipped N' Smashed — Restaurant in Hoboken

I’ve been seeing this place all over social media claiming to have the “ best” smash burgers in Jersey. So I figured as a food enthusiast myself, where I’ve been to countless of burgers spots in NJ and NY let me give them a try and see what the hype is all about. When I got there there was a large crowd waiting for their food, they have a self serve kiosk to order your food. Once I placed my order a few minutes later I got my milkshake, the milkshake was good 8/10, you can tell that they use a good quality ice cream…. This is where the 3 stars come into effect. I waited 45 mins exactly for an order of fries and a (1) double smash burger to come out. After waiting for 30 mins I asked them how much longer for my order to be ready, they said 5 mins but it was actually 15 mins more. The cooks on the line making the burgers was not making the orders by time stamp. I seen them make orders ahead of mine even though I ordered before them. For example, I ordered at 5:41pm. 3 orders that was ordered after 6:03pm went out before my order did. That is not right. Once I got my burger that I’ve been waiting for I was not impressed. It’s a good burger don’t get me wrong 7.5/10 but definitely not the best smashed burger I’ve had. If you are going to claim best smashed burger in NJ, please back it up lol. Most of the flavor came from the secret sauce that they use. The French fries was frozen, I am not a fan of frozen French fries. Even though the fries were frozen they were very crispy but not my style of fries. 6/10. The donuts are made fresh out of a machine and made to your liking of toppings. I just feel like this restaurant is overhyped. It’s a good spot if you are near the area and want something different but don’t be fooled, definitely NOT THE BEST smashed...

Impressed by the burger! At first I was bummed by how few options for customization there are - I can't add tomatoes? But just gotta trust em - it was a delicious burger that gets the balance of bun, patty, grilled onions and sauce right. I always go for single patties personally.

Another big notable are the CHEESE FRIES. These are no joke. All the fries seem not only tossed in cheese but are then sorta sitting on another layer of cheese sauce. Maybe this sounds like too much to some - but I loved em. I have having to ration and strategize my cheese distribution - these are by far the best ive had in Hoboken and fairly priced at $5.

It's got a fun colorful vibe to it too. Not typically my thing (yuck fun!) but felt right for what they were doing for. Seating and also good visibility on the cooling process.

Wife tried a shake - she rated it as good. Not amazing.

We also tried the donuts which are made fresh and have ridiculous customization. Was kind of expecting them to be hot and just fried. Seemed fresh but not hot though. Lots of customization. About 3 bucks for a small customizable donut - easy to get your sugar fix but I don't think this style donut is up my alley. Wife liked hers. Give it a shot.

This place and the people who own it are absolutely fantastic! Boy oh boy, do I have a story! My friend was saying how they saw Dipped N’ Smashed donuts on social media and really wanted to try it - so as the good friend I am, I wanted to get them a variety pack for their birthday at midnight. Little did I know that I arrived at the establishment after opening hours and when I got in there they told me they were closed. My eyes immediately welled up with tears (I just got all the way from Brooklyn) and I said this was all they wanted and I didn’t know what to do with the birthday candles in my purse now. One of the owners went out of his way to say, “Hold on, I’ll see what we donuts we have left - they’re just plain old fashioned donuts”. However, after seeing me be in a state of disarray and sadness, not only did they give me a variety pack of their top shelf donuts - but also on the house because of how sincere and nice they are. I’ve never experienced such kind customer service, and I’ll always be eternally grateful for them. Truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience at this place and will be coming back for seconds, thirds and fourths! And yes, the donuts...
