This restaurant is awesome!
I want to start off with - the waitress here (I don't remember her name, but she's the gal from Texas with gorgeous eyeshadow) was incredibly polite, friendly, and took very good care of us! 1000/10 waitress. I loved that she would refill our waters without interrupting conversation, & had such a cute & radiant positive flow from her!🥰 She really uplifted the mood!
I also really love the atmosphere here - I love the western aesthetic, it suits the name "Bandits" very well. The bathrooms also were clean, and had soft & pleasing lighting - it was very calming and soothing for me, especially since I have light sensitivity. The music wasn't too loud, either- it was the perfect volume. Loud enough to enjoy it, but quiet enough to hear conversations. Perfect!
I'm usually really finicky about restaurant water, but the water they serve here seemed so fresh! It was the perfect temperature & tasted amazing. Thank you! Also the lemons provided tasted crisp & juicy😍 I'm a water-with-lemon girl, so this part was very important to me. 👍
For my meal -( The 4 stars on the "food" section is just my assessment of the salad, & not the entire menu.) I ordered a vegan version of the Farmer's Salad (no cheese, no chicken). It was good - but the necessarily the best. I have been to Bandit's before in the past when they had a separate Quinoa salad & a strawberry salad - now it seems like the two have been combined.
For my recommendation to the chefs: The salad, as the way it is currently, is much too sweet. I ordered my dressing on the side, and I poured to my own tastes. However; the salad without dressing is already very sweet due to the cranberries. If you could reduce the cranberries, perhaps the dressing would be more appealing (since the dressing is also incredibly sweet). Also, the salad would taste much better if it had more quinoa - It would also be more worth it, too, since quinoa is a protein source. Even though I wanted a light meal, I still want it to be nutritious - I just feel like the sugar/fat/protein ratio was way off. It was mostly sugar, a bit of fat, and a very small amount of protein. However, I did enjoy the crispy kale on top- A+ for texture! I also loved the vartiey of ingredients, they went together very well. So, in conclusion - Less cranberries, more quinoa. Then it would be perfect! I will still order this salad again, though! Everyone else on my table seemed to enjoy their food, so I will have to try other menu options in the future.
Thank you for a wonderful time!❤ Definitely recommended for family get-togethers, date nights, birthdays & other...
Read moreWe recently tried Bandits' for the first time. From the start, the service was friendly. The wait was very reasonable for Saturday at dinner on a holiday weekend. We were seated within the estimated time frame.
The architecture of the dining area was great. I enjoyed soaking up all the sights. A neat modern industrial vibe with lots of wood and steel.
Our waiter was great. No complaints. Friendly and attentive through our whole meal.
The food was good. The fried pickles were chips, not spears, which is always appreciated, and were breaded and cooked to perfection. The garlic fries were good, though maybe not the best I've had. The house salad was above average, with small pieces of diced cucumber and tomato, which were a nice touch. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese, with large (cavatappi?) noodles and nice blend of cheeses. The portions on the two meat bbq combo was underwhelming, though, with maybe 3 oz of tri tip (which had good flavor, but was on the dry and overcooked side), and just 3 ribs (which were quite excellent by all measures). The two sandwiches our party got were on the dry side, but I suppose they might do that so you can add your own bbq sauce to your liking?? While I personally appreciated the serving sizes and no one left hungry, it was less than I would expect from a bbq place, and especially for the price.
Overall, not a bad meal at all. This won't be on my regular rotation when we're visiting from out of state, but we really enjoyed the experience and have no regrets. (Special mention that they had Don Julio 1942 tequila, which was a...
Read moreLooked at their website for promotions. Monday is kids eat for free. The menu provided at time of seating also displayed the specials. No asterisk or fine print. The website, the menu, nor the server made any explicit statements there any unannounced exceptions.
But alas, when ordering the childs item and citing the promotion/menu, and after served alcohol, we were told "No, no, no... not today. Not on holidays, no."
Had there been any notice of this exception, we would have gone somewhere else. But it was too late, Utah law prohibits alcohol purchase and consumption at restaurants without ordering and consuming food. Servers are required to state and these terms and enforce them, by the way. They may not have been aware, or didn't care, regardless, I was aware and I'm a decent law abiding citizen.
My partner ordered a steak salad. At delivery to table, she received a chicken salad. Had to wait a few minutes until the server returned to address the error. Turns out someone else ordered the same item as me and a chicken salad, they mixed them up. They took the salad that had been placed on our table, that we may have handled, directly to the intended table after placing the one intended for our table down. Food safety wise, I don't think that is well advised. Who knows what allergens and whatever my partner, our child, and I may have unintentionally contributed to the dish. They other party didn't even know of this situation or the circumstances. I don't think I had burden, as a customer, to intervene in the affair.
Selection of draft beer is pretty good....
