I had been there before and I knew the view was great so I took my family yesterday Sunday for lunch, our waitress was really unfriendly. First, she came straight with glasses of water and my mother asked her very friendly for water with no ice (because she has a condition) and this girl named Zoey or Zoe didn’t say anything but looked really annoyed just for that simple thing we asked. She took back the glass of water with no word and brought the water with no ice and asked “are you gonna want bread?” (I thought the bread was served without asking wether we want it or not, like a normal restaurant) we just said yes. We ordered our meals. The food was ok but my sister had ordered the Rigatoni with smoked salmon and it was salty, she kept trying to eat it because she thought it was not a big deal but the more she had it the more it became unbearable so we decided to tell our waitress, we called her and we let her know it and she said “But you have eaten half of the plate already!” (Again pulling an annoyed face) it was not true! My sister had had a quarter of the plate as max, we told her that and she replied “ok, so what do you want?” (???) My sister was prepared to order something else but with her attitude we just told her to take the plate because she was not going to eat it, Zoey said “Ok” and took the plate without any more words. We had to wait some time to ask for the check because she was busy inside chatting with her colleges, when she finally brought the check, of course she hadn’t removed that dish for the inconvenience. We ended up paying for a meal that was not enjoyed and yet returned MORE than half a plate. And now comes the most frustrating part, the tip comes pre fixed on the bill (20%) we are used to tip that amount regularly but to be honest our waitress didn’t deserve that. We just paid and left with no more words. It is so bad when you go to a place to have a good time and you leave with an unnecessary anger because of a bad service. There was no...
Read moreservice ** food Back in 2018, we discovered Giorgio's and since then, every winter for 4 months, we have come here; at at least eight times per season. Food was good and the staff was nice. This year, we ate here 3 times so far, the last time on Feb 14th. We have noticed since our first time, food quality is not the same. Most of our favorite dishes tasted different and the wait staff is not polite or does not know what they are doing. On Feb 14th, our waitress was not quite in the restaurant! I ordered a small San Pellegrino, to be told they only have big bottles. Sure enough when I went inside, the fridge was full of these small bottles. Then, I asked her how big spanakopita is and the waitress said “they cut it in four , so 4 small pieces”. We ordered spanakopita, a bowl of soup, fried calamari and grilled snapper. So, 2 persons, 4 dishes. Spanakopita and the soup arrived first. The “small 4 pieces” were 2 pretty large ones. Would have been enough food actually for one person (I am not a big eater). After not even 5 min they brought in calamari and the fish. Now, we just started eating and dishes that are supposed to be eaten warm were already on the table. After a long while, our waitress came to ask how it was, we told her food was rushed. She got upset and actually said “you did not tell me to bring them separately”. Wow! Now, when 2 people ordered 4 dishes, it does not take a PhD to figure out they have to be paced. We did not tell her that calamari were chewy and the fish hard as a rock. She left, and after a while another person came with the check. To our surprise, for such bad service and mediocre food, a 20% service fee was added. We ate at Giorgio’s 3 days prior, and there was no service fee. So, the restaurant it’s not what it used to be. Service is bad, food is mediocre and a 20% tip for this, seems outrageous. It spoiled our Valentine’s day lunch and we...
Read moreVery disappointing overall, if I’m being totally honest. Waited 15 minutes right at the front and although reception girls looked at us, within 5 feet of them, they never said hi and when the did finally greet us, it was very “cold” as if we were bothering them. We wanted an outside seat and were willing to wait longer but just wanted a cup of coffee while waiting. I was told we could not have coffee until seated and I asked a couple different ways because I was wondering if my request was lost in translation. It wasn’t, so we decided to sit inside. It took another 10 minutes or so to be greeted and another 10 minutes to receive it. We ordered French toast and an omelet about 20-25 minutes later it came out, delivered by someone else and the food was barely warm and the side order of bacon was straight up, cold. About a 20 minutes later we still hadn’t seen our original guy so I took my coffee cup up to the front asking for a refill, one of the ladies grunted at me, but I think she was implying she couldn’t help and I actually saw my waiter. He brought a new cup back (and a 2nd cup, which was nice) but then we never saw him again to tell him about the food or get a refill on water. So at about an hour and a half in we finally saw him and I asked for the check, he dropped it off and I didn’t see him again for another 15 and then I grabbed someone else to give them my card. I tipped 15%, and also wrote on the check a couple of the reasons why. Normally I’m at 25% or more but just couldn’t bring myself to do so nor could I not leave a review, but it was just a very poor experience. Hopefully this review creates a...
