This is a Melting Pot of many different tribes, tongues and Nations. It is located right next to one of the two public parking garages in Hollywood. This one is also located next to the racquetball courts, so it's very active. When you enter the parking garage, there's always parking available, if you have to park on the 5th floor, it will be an elevator so you don't have to worry. The parking fees are a little bit expensive, and I think they very on weekends. The most important thing you have to remember, is to not back in into the parking space. There are signs there that tell you clearly, do not back into the parking space. Every floor has at least two self-service parking kiosks, in which you swipe your credit card, and then you purchase time. After you do this, or actually before you do this, it's imperative that you remember your license plate number because they will ask you for it at the kiosk. So if you don't want to go back and forth and possibly lose your line, just remember your license plate number. The best thing to do is just take a picture of it, that way you'll always have it. After you purchase your parking ticket, you'll also be given the option to have text messages sent to you alerting you to how much time you have left. This is a very convenient feature.
đĽđĽ here's the important part, when the machine dispenses your parking ticket, you need to place it on your dashboard, invisible you so that way when the parking police come they can see your parking ticket. There are stairs and elevators that take you to the ground floor, and take you right into Charnow Park. You'll enjoy the fact that it has a big splash found for little kids. It's just one big round area with little Jets that squirt water up everywhere, it's nice. And there are benches all around, so you can sit down and watch your children and comfort. There are Pavilions around there too, you can actually run a pavilion and have your birthday party there. Hollywood Boardwalk is a wonderful place because the freedom of speech is awesome. It's like a little miniature version of Venice Beach. There are Street preachers, spreading the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which is so important to listen to. There are many groups that go out there, but Charnow Park I believe is right there on Connecticut Street. The other public parking garage is further north. I like it more because it's not as busy and it takes you right into the busy section of the Hollywood Boardwalk. By the way, you don't have to Park in a multi-level parking structure. There is also parking on the side streets that are perpendicular to the beach. The same kiosks are used. Have fun...
Read moreThis park is located at about the 2/3rd point north on the Hollywood Broadwalk. It runs from S. Ocean Drive to the Broadwalk. It consists of a municipal parking garage, handball courts, restrooms, a children's splash pad and a covered area alongside the Broadwalk. The latter is a wonderful place to sit and people watch. The beach area in front is usually the busiest area on the Broadwalk because of the proximity to parking.
A short distance to the right facing the beach are several restaurants.
As others have noted on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 PM a band strikes up and places old...
Read moreThis is a really cute park to take the family to. Me and my family have the tradition of going on afternoon walks in the Hollywood Boulevard. This is a cute spot to sit and rest while looking at the gorgeous ocean. If you decide to go for a swim there are showers near by and bathrooms as well. There is a beautiful water fountain at ground level that you can splash around in, a great activity for the little ones and the not so little ones. Nearby there are also places to rest bicycles (from 1 seaters to up to 4). I recommend for anyone looking for a nice afternoon to walk, talk, and...
