They were very welcoming and was assisted with immediately. It was a bit late so there were not many tables, but still was promptly assisted. The pisco sour lacks a bit of quality flavor. They only have one type of pisco Quatro Gallos which leaves no selection to any true high end pisco. The sauces were tasteful but limited variety. There were no levels of hot or spice. Considering this is peruvian there should be degrees for those who can and those who cannot. It goes from no spice slight flavor to slightly spicy a little more flavor. Then it jump straight to pure rocoto tossed is some water to make a sauce. I ordered a mixed ceviche with fried calamari on top. The calamari was tough as if imitation. The shrimp was not made within the dish, instead was set on the side of the serving dish which is a margarita glass. It made the shrimp tasteless and in need of sauce. The crisp on the calamari was nice but was still touch. It did have some real calamari mix in the ceviche portion but most felt like imitation. Like one of those mixed bags. The fish was a bit chunky. This left the consistency of the meat texture gummy in some pieces. Probably could have done with a few more onions. The margaritas glass looks nice but it does not allow to get a good mix of ingredients when taking a bite. Usually a nice mix corn, fish, onion and maybe lucky enough to snag one more thing with each bite. This dish style has all the choclo corn at the bottom along with the fish. Being half Peruvian I can see why many would enjoy this location compared to other food on the hollywood beach boardwalk. It is not bad. But when comparing quality it is lacking in many areas but I can see the attempt at trying to provide good quality. I hope to see the quality improve and hopefully a larger selection of...
Read moreDon’t bother doing take out. DO NOT RECOMMEND! We have two young kiddos so we decided to order take out. Mind you this was a $75 order. Ordered the food around 6:30pm. Arrived to pick it up around 7ish and we were told there was never an order put in. After showing them the confirmation number, they realized they did in fact have the order, but they were just too busy and forgot. I don’t even understand how this could happen at a fully functional restaurant. What looked to be a woman manager/owner (not entirely sure), she was extremely rude to my husband. So, you guys make a big mistake and instead of being apologetic or at least somewhat nice about it, you’re just rude. Eventually a gentleman that looked to be a manager/owner assisted my husband and said he’d make the food in about 10 min. At this point it’s a little after 7:30pm. We have our infant and 2 year old with us starting to get tired and starting to get antsy. The entire time we were standing there neither of the managers asked/walked up to us to see if we were okay or if we needed anything. Not even a cup of water. Not even an update on the food status. Terrible customer service if you ask me. Finally 30 min later we got our food and a happy new year. Not one apology. Nothing. We checked the bag quickly to make sure we had the food. Got back to our room. Not one packet of ketchup for the fries. Not one packet of sauce for the Fried shrimp. Soooo disappointing! Also don’t know why they even bother asking how I’d like the meat cooked because it came back a lot more rare than we’d like. Asked for medium well and get red medium rare meat. To top it off we only received two plastic utensils and one was opened and dirty haha. The absolute WORSE take...
Read moreStarted out with Pisco Sours, waited 10-15 minutes to get drinks after we ordered. Loved the drinks. We had ordered Papas a la Huancaina sauce when we ordered the drinks and finally got them after we had finished our drinks so we ordered 2 more Pisco Sours and our entrees Tamal Criollo and Lomo Saltado. It was at least 20 minutes before she brought our dinners and still hadn’t brought our drinks. When she finally brought the drinks, we noticed the first ones were blended nicely but the second ones had bigger chunks of ice in them, not as good. My wife had asked for more salsa when she got her food as they only gave a tiny cup with about a teaspoon of salsa in it. We finished the whole meal and when the waitress finally came back around I asked and she had completely forgot about it. The food was very good but was overshadowed by the slow service, the place wasn’t even at half capacity so I don’t understand the wait time. We had experienced the service around here was slower than normal and appreciated that we weren’t rushed. I had commented to my wife that we weren’t in a hurry and just wanted to enjoy our time, but this service went way past that. I have to imagine that if they didn’t add the 18% gratuity automatically on the bill that these waitresses would maybe understand that better service brings better tips. I don’t think they know what it feels like to get a small tip and have to try harder to please the customer. I didn’t feel like they thought about...
