Minnie's Beach Cafe — Restaurant in Holmes Beach

Upon a friends recommendation we hit Minnies on a Friday morning around 930am for breakfast

We were offered a spot at a communal table where you can meet others or to wait for our own table

We opted to wait and went outsid . It didn't take too long to get called, maybe 10 minutes.

The problem started after we were seated. We waited at least 10 more minutes with our existence ignored by the two elderly servers.

Eventually the hostess came over and took our drink order and brought us our drinks.

Then we continued to wait. Around that time one of the servers finally got to the communal table of people to take their orders, they had been seated when we went to wait outside, so had been waiting quite some time as well

And still we waited, and waited. Eventually our server finally acknowledged we existed and passed by a few times promising she would be by to take our orders, but after a few of these passes with her continuing to move at a snails pace we gave up, got up and left to find another restaurant instead

I have never experienced service this poor befor . We waited somewhere between 30-40 minutes with only drinks delivered and no order taken before we threw in the towel on this place.

RATING / 4 STARS = Everyone deserves a second chance. And lo and behold, everything looked different. The location was very well attended like the first time, but this time it was much better ventilated and not so musty. 👍 This time we opted for an Omelette with ham, potatoes, toast and a Belgian waffle with fresh fruit. It was lovingly arranged and exquisite. So it was worth it that we went to Minnis again. 💪 And we will definitely go back there again. 😃 RATING / 2 STARS = An original location with a decoration around the sea. Nice and helpful service staff who serve you calmly and quickly. The selection of dishes is very diverse and there are also special things that are not on the menu. Our order was unfortunately not so convincing. Apart from the very good coffee, everything looked rather unpleasant. The scrambled eggs were almost cold and the toast was quite dark. In terms of taste, there is still room for improvement. So from 09:00 in the morning the locality fills up quite quickly and since it is relatively small it became stuffy. There are no seats outside. Sorry, we have already seen better prices! PS. ...

Walked in, first time here, ordered breakfast within about 5 minutes, great, waited for my eggs Benedict for 40 minutes, yes, 40 minutes. People that came in after me were working on their meals and getting close to being finished eating. Later the waitress comes up and says that they lost my ticket… ok, so food came out shortly after. Food was good actually, enjoyed it, but they also forgot my hash browns, so had to wait for that a few minutes after also, not a big deal, but along with the fact that no one came up after bringing the food over to ask how the food is or to fill my water up is a disappointment, I didn’t have any water for half of my time sitting there finishing my meal. I did however appreciate the fact that they didn’t charge me for the hash browns since they missed my order. But the lack of service there after was not great. The thing is, since the time they brought out the food till the time I finished, there was only 1 other couple eating, so it wasn’t like they were busy and couldn’t have asked about getting me more water. Overall not pleased. Service could certainly be much, much better....
