Skinny's Place inc. — Restaurant in Holmes Beach

OK, Best Burger is NOT on the menu, Really Good Burger is. I tried the single bacon cheeseburger, with the three cheese option of "Cheddar Pepperjack & American" with everything but NO onion and an order of fries. Came out really quick, about 5-6 minutes maybe and was delivered to our outside table. The temperature was nice, about 80°F, it was overcast with rain all around us but at the beach, and there was a very nice breeze. So, eating outside was a treat in itself. The vibe was very very relaxing and you knew you were at the beach, there was sand on the concrete floor of the indoor seating area and all over the place outside of course. The burger was some sort of preformed patty, but it had good flavor. The fixins' on the burger were very FRESH and CRISP and COOL and served at the side of your burger for you to assemble. This is how every burger should be served! No wilted lettuce, and here at Skinny's, the lettuce was to pieces of Iceberg, whole, not shreaded or torn into little bitty peices. Really, the only thing holding this burger back was the patty itself. It needs to be made from fresh ground 80/20 and formed into a patty by hand or by smashing the sphere of beef with the spatula. Either way, if that patty was primo, the burger would attain that "Best" name for itself. The rest of the burger is already across that finish line waiting for it to follow. The fries were nice, crisp, slightly smaller than a McDonald's Fry in diameter and it has the natural skin of the potato on the ends of the fry. Nice flavor and good texture. Throw a little ketchup in the mis and you had some fine eats there. The beer is served cold and in a frosted mug, so top notch honors there too. I saw an order of onion rings, and they looked wonderful too.. So, if you are at Holmes Beach or nearby, it's a great place to have a burger when it's NOT on season. I wouldn't fight the seasonals for...

Skinny’s is a hamburger joint; maybe a hamburger stand is a better description. Burgers is what Skinny’s does, and it does it pretty well.

This was one of several trips to this little spot over the years while vacationing in the area. It is apparent that my little tribe aren’t the only folks who are sure to stop after a day on the beach. It is a popular place for a quick dinner and a bottle of coca-cola.

Very casual dress is basically required. Part of the charm of the place is that it is located in what I can only describe as a tiny little shack. It is always cramped and sweaty inside. Should you choose to dine inside (there are only around four tables), you probably want to seat yourself in front of a fan. It won’t cool you off but it will at least move the air around a bit.

Most people will opt to eat outside. The outdoor seating is pet friendly and casual, with picnic tables at the edge of the parking lot and on the street side of the sidewalk.

The place isn’t much for service. I have been scolded by an older lady (I presume to be one of the owners) for telling her what toppings I’d like on my burger. Try it and she will be sure to tell you that all the toppings come on the plate; you choose what goes on the sandwich. If you order a bottle of coke, you should know that, as with most places with bottled soda, refills are not free. Other than at the point of sale at the counter, it is unlikely you will deal with another staff member, as there is no table service.

In all, it is a good vacation-y place to get a quick bite at a place with loads...

Amazing..... Love it!!!!!! Especially the coke soda bottles in glass bottles like the old days... Ice cold Coke in a bottle and a wonderful burger & fries....

I was out biking the island, headed home into Bradenton where I live just 5 miles from the Island, stopped in Skinnys for a burger and fries, coke, haven't been there awhile, so, I went in & decided to eat late lunch and relax a bit.....

Of course, on my diet and losing 70 pounds, didn't help eating a skinnys plate of food, but, ya gotta live Life, and we need to support our small island businesses

I was only able to eat half my lunch, but they gave me a to go box to take the rest home to warm up in my toaster oven at home the next day for lunch. ( Be sure they put all your veggies on the side that goes on your burger if you want to to take part of it home, that way it's not soggy next day ...

I am on chemo pill for thyroid cancer, and appetite isn't 100% so, I eat small portions to help

Stage 4 thyroid cancer, and trying to get out and do things I enjoy when I can, my Drs want me outside, going out, enjoying myself on good days, it's important to get Florida Sunshine, and the sea air. It helps any ailments, or Illness.

So, I rest & also go pick a day or two a week to get out as my Drs encourage me to.
