My go to spot to eat breakfast. Made or order omelets, $5 mimosa, screwdriver, and bloody mary's, all you can eat breakfast buffet with fresh fruit with oj, guava juice, milk, etc for $11.95.
12/3/2018 I've come and eaten the buffet numerous times and had good to decent service. Today however was different. Woke up starving after had not eaten yesterday from being too busy working over 12 hours and decided to come back for breakfast. I always order me a drink with breakfast. Always. It helps me relax and go back to sleep. Today I didn't know who my server was or even if I did have a server until I was nearly done eating. Which means.... no drink ordered. I didn't figure out who my server was until a nice looking older woman sat down next to me and ordered from the egg/omelet order form. That's when my server got it and acknowledged me. It took nearly 30 minutes. And I know this because I was texting a friend of mine and I checked the time of when I sat down and responded before placing my egg order to the time she finally said something. And it was after I had texted my friend that I didn't know who my server was. When it was time for my check, that's when she decided to actually acknowledge me as her guest and ask if I was done or needed anything. I work in the industry. I pay attention to my surroundings to make excuses of what could be the reason for lack of service. If 7 tables is too much, she shouldn't have as many. But not even introducing yourself to your guest? I can't think of a good enough reason for that. I was going to complete the survey on the receipt but it's not working so I did it on here. Her name is Marcette which I got from the receipt.
To end this all in a better note, Rain/Rein/Reign (oops don't have that receipt) was an excellent server/bartender when I visited Wednesday last week for Happy Hour. The $5 shrimp tacos was delicious!
Also when I stopped in to order the "King" steak dinner this past Friday evening after discovering it when I came in for Happy Hour, the service was good even though he was a bit busy. He acknowledged me. That's what counted. And there were servers who acknowledged me and even tried to help me with deciding how and what to order...
Read moreI was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Waikiki Beach, this restaurant is located downstairs in the lobby. My girlfriend had leftover food and she told me to warm it up and then we realized we don’t have any silverware for her to eat the food. I told her there’s a restaurant downstairs I’m going to get a plastic spoon. I went downstairs, and went inside TR FIRE GRILL. I’ve ask a hostess “ do you have a plastic spoon I can have please? She was nice and pleasant and went in the kitchen and came back and gave me two wrapped plastic spoon and fork with no problem. Then came Christopher Lord, the General Manager. He asked me, am I staying at the hotel? I told him yes and I walked away. Something was troubling me because I found it odd for him to asked me that, so I came back and asked him what’s the reason he ask me whether I was staying at the hotel? He told me that TR FIRE GRILL is not part of the hotel and we’re not allowed to give guess anything. I said, sir this is a plastic spoon, I didn’t know it was going to caused that much problem. It seems that it was a problem, right before I came back to speak to him he was lecturing the hostess that gave me the plastic spoon. I asked him how much do you want for the plastic spoon because I was willing to pay for it. He said no, that’s not necessary. He kept going back and forth about people come in the restaurant to use the restroom and stealing silverware. I told him that I’m not one of those people, I didn’t come to take away anything ; I came here to asked for a plastic spoon and it was provided for me. I think the behavior Christopher Lord demonstrated toward me was awful. You should always treat every guess with respect, whether they’re your customers or not. For him to treat me this way and to make a big deal about a plastic spoon was mind boggling to me. It made me feel ashamed and embarrassed. I was shocked when he told me he was the general manager of this particular chain in WAIKIKI. I’m not sure if this is the core value of TR FIRE GRILL employee especially a general manager towards a customer , then I’m sorry I will not be visiting or eating at your restaurant chain ever again. Thank you...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and avoid. Right off the bat, our sodas were FLAT. Waiter said, I can bring you another one but I can't promise it'll be better because it comes from a fountain...dude. just say sorry do you want a different beverage. Figured it was a fluke and asked for the same, he said he would bring us 2 fresh ones which ended up coming AFTER our entrees came out( and weren't any better). I got a coco melon drink, tasted like 0 alcohol and fiance got a glass of wine that, and I quote, "tasted like feet". Anyway, then I ordered prime rib tacos and asked for no cilantro, which he repeated back to me. Guess what? Tacos came with cilantro, waiter came by and said how's everything, I kinda looked at him and he said " oh yeah you said no cilantro right? And then Said if you want I could take it back and have them remake it. Like dude, you know it's wrong, you should just do it, but I felt bad so I picked it off. Ordered filet, please don't order a filet if you must eat here. Looked like 2 THIN cheeseburger patties, for 52$?! The portions were TINY. My fiance ordered mushroom ravioli and the "creamy mushroom sauce" was like broth, and NOT in a good way. VERY watered down. Steak was cooked OK, a little overdone but then again, when your center cut filet is 2 thin slices (pretty sure McDonald's cheeseburger patties are thicker) I can't see how you can't overcook them. Save yourself and go elsewhere. Tommy Bahamas was just about the same prices but food was exponentially better and service was on point. Even small cheap shacks had MUCH better food and service. AVOID,...
